This statement was printed on the wooden chop sticks at P.F. Chang's Chinese Restaurant at the Mall of Georgia on Friday, June 29, when we celebrated Greg's 54th birthday. The egg drop soup was heavenly. It was as smooth as silk with a taste so delicate and delicious I could have drunk the whole bowl of soup. It is so good with the wonton strips. The combination is out of this world. Melvine, Greg, and I chose a different dish. The dish I chose was Sweet and Sour Chicken. Greg chose a dish with shrimp, and Melvine chose Mongolian Steak. We shared these dishes to give us a well-rounded Chinese supper. They served so much that we had our waiter to put the food in boxes to bring home to eadt later. Greg loves Cheese Cake Factory. So, he dove a little ways to that place. He went in to get our deserts. He purchased for me Chocolate cheese pie. It was so good. For Melvine he chose her favorite and one for himself. The Mall of Georgia was filled with all sorts of people. One of the major attractions was sponsored and promoted by Free Chapel. Infinite Energy Center What can we bring to the table to reach out and touch others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? This Fourth of July weekend is a good time to share Jesus with others. One of my best loved Gospel songs is entitled, "Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It."
You may listen to the Martin family as they sing this beautiful Gospel son by Clicking Here. Here are the lyrics written by Frances J. Crosby, pub.1882 Scripture: Psalm 107:2; Revelation 5:9 Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child and forever I am. Refrain: Redeemed, redeemed, Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed, redeemed, His child and forever I am. Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus, No language my rapture can tell; I know that the light of His presence With me doth continually dwell. I think of my blessed Redeemer, I think of Him all the day long: I sing, for I cannot be silent; His love is the theme of my song. I know I shall see in His beauty The King in whose law I delight; Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps, And giveth me songs in the night. I know there’s a crown that is waiting In yonder bright mansion for me, And soon, with the spirits made perfect, At home with the Lord I shall be. This year the TMPHC choir will present a patriotic musical entitled, "The Spirit of America," followed by an encouraging message from the Rev. Dr. Hugh Morgan. Melvine Morgan will sing a solo, "No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus" and will be accompanied b Greg Morgan on the piano. Dr. Morgan's message is entitled, "The Ministry of Military Chaplains in Peace and War." The Scripture text he will be using is recorded in Acts 13:47: You are "following orders, doing what God commanded when He said, I've set you up as light to all nations. You'll proclaim salvation to the four winds and seven seas!" (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.) I would like to personally extend an invitation to all who would like to attend. Taylor Memorial PHC is located at 711 Glenn Street, Anderson, SC 29625. You may contact our church office at 864-226-2111 for more information. With Great Expectation, Rev. Dr. Brent Lollis, Senior Pastor Arlette and Lavon Revells are exciting facilitators of the Celebrate Life Now Sunday school class at Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, GA. They will be leading this growing and learning class in a new series entitled, Fearless by Max Lucado. You are invited to come and join with us in this new study. I have never been more excited and hopeful than any other time at this current season of my life. I dearly love my local church and what the Holy Spirit is doing in the lives of the people of our congregation. It is nothing less than God's gracious hand upon Christian Life Worship Center (a Pentecostal Holiness Church) in Athens, Georgia. God gave us a new pastor and his wife about a year ago. They are Terry and Pam Kesling. Our pastor is a great communicator who is honest, humble, intelligent, and transparent. His sermons are timely and deal with issues we all face as Christians with our families. God has anointed him to preach and lead this congregation to new and higher dimensions of God grace and unfailing love for all people. We are blessed to have two highly intelligent and talented leaders to serve as the facilitators for our Sunday school class, called Celebrate Life Now. Most of all, God has anointed them for this ministry, and it is evident to all. The Celebrate Life Now Sunday school class is a cross generational gathering of various ages of adults that meets on Sunday mornings to celebrate Jesus and study God's Holy Word, the Bible. Lavon and Arlette Revells are the teachers or facilitators. There is never a dull moment and they know how to get class members involved in the discussion of the subject material. If you want to experience a dynamic Sunday school class led by two dedicated facilitators and teachers you will want to be a part of our Celebrate Life Now class. Lavon and Arlette Revells extend a personal invitation to you to attend the Celebrate Life Now this Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. The class meets on the lower level of our educational wing of Christian Life Worship Center, in a classroom known as Stephanie's Place, named in loving memory of the life and legacy of Stephanie Ellen Morgan, a dedicated educator during her adult life. You may enter the classroom from the parking lot to the right of the rose garden. Melvine and I are members of this Sunday school class, and we invite you to join with us and many others who enjoy this Bible study class. The class begins at 10 a. m. at Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, GA. The church is located at 125 Kathwood Drive, one mile north of the Athens Perimeter just off US Highway 129. The senior Sunday school class at Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, Georgia, is known as the “Keen-Age”class. We are all past our promised years of three score and ten years. We all share a bond of love for one another. The class got its name years ago when Inez Arnold was the teacher. Back then, Mary Campbell, Neice Prickett, Bill Arnold, Cleo Moser, Sue Vinson, Mattie Mae Johnson, Annie Strickland, Bertie Pearson, and Lavern Smith, just to name a few made up the class. All those have gone on to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Their “Keen” minds and faithful witness are strongly felt in the class today. All of us remember these old saints shouting and praising God. What a blessing they were to the class that still carries the name “Keen-age.” Most of the class today still have a “Keen” mind but our bodies are showing our age. A wheel chair, walker, and walking canes help us to our classroom on Sunday. We pray that we are setting the example before our young people today that was set before us years ago of faithful service to God, love for our church family, and love for Jesus Christ Who paid the ultimate price for our salvation. Meanwhile, our class has our own flower fund. If we know of a need in our church family, sickness or a death, we help according to the funds that are available in that account. We want all to know that the “Keen-age” class is a valuable part of Christian Life Church. [Editor's Comment: At my request Blenda Pearson Smith has written this comprehensive description of our Senior Citizen Sunday school class called "Keen-Age" Class, at Christian Life Worship Center, in Athens, Georgia. I think she did a superb job in writing this article. When you see her again let her know you read what she had written about her Sunday school class called "Keen-Age" Class. Blenda is the teacher. I know Blenda would love to prepare you a guest chair for this Sunday morning at 9:30.] Police cars block the road in front of the Capital Gazette a day after a gunman opened fire at the newspaper's offices, killing five people and injuring several others in Annapolis, Maryland. From the bottom of my heart, I'm making an appeal. To my fellow radio and TV commentators. To other journalists. To all of us posting on social media. Please. Can we show some restraint and demonstrate some civility in the aftermath of the latest mass shooting in our country? This is not about Trump. This is not about Democrats or Republicans. This is not even about gun control. This is about five people who went to work on Thursday never to return. It is about families in shock and agony and grief. It is about three others who were physically wounded and many others who will carry emotional wounds for years. And, according to the latest reports, this was about one man with a personal vendetta against one newspaper company. This was not about accusations of "fake news" or attacks on the alleged purveyors of "fake news." According to what we know, this was about revenge. Murderous, bloody, heartless revenge. Why must we politicize this tragedy? Have we no shame? A headline on the Huffington Post reads, "The Deadliest Day For U.S. Journalism Since 9/11. The grim milestone comes amid escalating hostility toward the press." The article, by Nick Wing, stated, "Although we don't yet know if the gunman in Annapolis chose to target the Capital Gazette newsroom out of a broader animosity for the media, the killings come at a time of escalating antagonism toward the press, often at the urging of those in the highest ranks of power." Remarkably, hours after the real motive of the shooting was revealed, the article and headline remained unchanged. Another HuffPost headline declared, "'The Wire' Creator David Simon Eviscerates Marco Rubio After Newsroom Shooting. 'You've affirmed the notion that the press is an alien, untrustworthy cohort,' he said." This headline and story also remained unchanged after more information about the shooting was released. What kind of garbage is this? Senator Rubio's tweets, in fact, were reasonable, as he bemoaned the realities of our deeply divided media. He said, "BTW I'm not happy about this reality. It's terrible for country. Lack of trust in reporting leaves us vulnerable to conspiracy theories & unable to have debates b/c we can't even agree on baseline facts. We are all ALL to blame for this mess. Sorry, that includes many in media." (This was one of several tweets he posted.) It is obscene that, after the shooting, David Simon tweeted, "From the vantage of someone who is waiting for the death count of journalists shot in their newsroom in my home state, can I simple [sic] say that @marcorubio is unfit to be a citizen of a republic, much less a legislator. You should crawl through broken glass to hell, Senator." Talk about a rush to judgment. Talk about an embarrassing tweet. Shame on David Simon for connecting Rubio's reasonable tweets with the slaughter in Annapolis. As the night wore on, Simon turned his wrath on Trump, with tweets like this: "My friends die today and you bring this? [He was responding to another tweet.] I expect little of a deranged man with a history of domestic abuse and irrationality [speaking of the killer]. I [expletive] expect my president, the leader of a republic, to speak of a free press not as 'enemies of the people' as a provocation to such men." We can understand the depth of his grief seeing that he lost personal friends. But he has no excuse for drawing a direct line between the shooting and the president. Breitbart reports that, "Rob Cox, Global Editor for Thomson Reuters' Breakingviews vertical, said the Capital Gazette newspaper shooting was a direct response to President Donald Trump's criticism of the mainstream media. "This is what happens when @realDonaldTrump calls journalists the enemy of the people. Blood is on your hands, Mr. President. Save your thoughts and prayers for your empty soul." I'm sure he spoke for many who shared his sentiments and also raced ahead to an ugly, incorrect judgment. To his credit, when the real story came out, he tweeted, "Fair enough to call me out for jumping to a conclusion about the motives here. Vilifying any category of people—journalists, migrants, conservatives, liberals etc—can incite violence. This one hits close to home. Genuinely saddened." Sean Hannity was also involved in a controversy as the shooting was reported. During his live radio show, he said, "I've been saying now for days that something horrible was going to happen because of the rhetoric. Really, Maxine? You want people to create—'call your friends, get in their faces'—and [former President Barack] Obama said that too. 'Get in their faces, call them out, call your friends, get protesters, follow them into restaurants and shopping malls,' and wherever else she said." This led to headlines blaring, "Sean Hannity blames Maxine Waters and her 'horrible rhetoric' for the Maryland newsroom shooting as the Democrat congresswoman cancels events after a 'very serious DEATH threat' is made against her." Hannity, for his part, shot back several hours, with his staff posting numerous clips from his show where he said he was not connecting Waters' rhetoric with the shooting. The headline on Hannity.com read, "LIBERAL LIES: The Hill, Media Matters, Daily Beast Lie About Hannity's Comments." The article then states, "Sean Hannity never tied today's horrific shooting to the comments made by Representative Maxine Waters. Today's event was pure evil, and no one can control someone who is intent on inflicting pain and violence." Listening to the relevant clip, you can argue that Hannity was using the occasion of the latest shooting, which to him was an example of how many sick, evil people out there, to ask Maxine Waters, "Do you realize why your words are so dangerous? There are crazy people out there, and your rhetoric could provoke them to do evil things." But even putting the best construction on his radio segment (in light of his subsequent comments throughout the show), why bring up Maxine Waters in this context at all? All of us who speak to hundreds or thousands or millions have an incredible privilege and an incredible responsibility. At a tragic time like this, when coldblooded murder hits us between the eyes, we have no excuse for irresponsible reporting. May all of us step higher. And may God have mercy on the grieving and the wounded. [Dr. Michael Brown (www.askdrbrown.org) is the host of the nationally syndicated Line of Fire radio program. Now that we’re halfway through the year, it’s also an opportunity to realign yourself with God—to grow in your understanding of Him and deepen your relationship with Him before moving through the next season. Over the coming month, we’ll explore one aspect of God to help you reevaluate who He is and how He cares for you. This is part 1 of a 4-part Summer Soul Refresher series on God’s grace from BGEA (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association). “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” —Ephesians 2:8-9 Grace and mercy. Mercy and grace. Two terms that are often used interchangeably. They go hand-in-hand, but there is indeed a difference. Mercy is not getting what you do deserve. Grace, conversely, is getting something you don’t deserve. Picture this: You’re racing down the road, handily breaking the speed limit, when suddenly you see the blue lights flashing behind you. There’s something you do deserve in this situation. You deserve a ticket and a fine. You broke the law, and there’s a penalty for that crime. After a brief conversation, the officer lets you go with a warning. That is mercy. You deserve that speeding ticket, but you are not getting what you do deserve. Now, imagine that you have a project due at work, and—try as you may—you have not been able to complete the task. Without it, you have no chance of achieving the bonus you’ve been working towards. At the last second a colleague jumps in and saves the day, helping you with the last remaining pieces. That would be grace. No matter how hard you worked, you didn’t deserve the bonus. You fell short. But somebody else came along and provided what you needed. Why do I bring up this distinction? Because all around us are people who desperately need both of these blessings, and they are both freely given by Christ through His death and resurrection. The Bible tells us very clearly who we are and what we deserve. We are sinners who have fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). Because of that, we deserve death; eternal separation from the Holy and Perfect Father (Romans 6:23). No matter what we do in our own power and effort, we cannot change that fact. But this is where Christ comes in with His mercy and His grace! We do deserve death, but as we call on His Name and make Him the Savior of our lives, we receive mercy. We don’t deserve to come into the presence of God, but we are given that eternal promise through grace. We’ve found that promise and have the hope of Christ because of it! Meanwhile, all around us are people who are struggling through this world, trying their best to do more good than bad, thinking that is their path to eternity. They’ve never truly experienced grace and mercy, though they’re hungry for it. My friends, look around you and I promise you will see someone who will break your heart; someone on a path leading to destruction. Share with them the hope that is within you, and allow God to open the door for them to “with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Receive God’s grace today. WORLD MISSIONS MINISTRIES MONTHLY UPDATES

The longing of God’s heart, if it can be expressed as such, is to be known, loved, glorified, and enjoyed by His creation. Although in His plural nature God has ultimate fellowship, love, and harmony within the Trinity, He also desired fellowship and friendship with Adam and Eve. But early in their lives Adam and Eve made one choice that broke their relationship with God and cost them their happiness at the present and their destiny for the future, devastating their family for every generation to come. This devastation was inevitable because life is made up of relationships with God, with others, and with ourselves, and the choice to sin through disobedience destroyed all three relationships. Sin destroys our relationship with God through guiltiness. It destroys our relationship with others through lovelessness. It destroys our relationship with ourselves through meaninglessness. What sin is worth such destructive consequences? Blessings, Anne Graham Lotz Copyright © 2014 Anne Graham Lotz (AnGeL Ministries) Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Used by permission. He was born in Evergreen, Alabama on June 29, 19646/28/2018 Today, June 29, we, as a family of three, Melvine, Hugh, and Greg, will celebrate Greg's 54th birthday. Greg's birth was by Cesarean Section at the Evergreen Hospital in Evergreen in Conecuh County, Alabama during my first pastorate. He became the church baby of the Brownville Pentecostal Holiness Church. We had a lot of baby sitters. Shortly after Greg returned from a mini-vacation to Vancouver, British Columbia in early June of this year, he was notified that he has been hired by the McDuffie County Board of Education and the principal as a Teacher at Thomson-McDuffie Middle School effective for the 2018-2019 school year. He will be teaching choral, keyboard, and general music education in this historic southern city in Thomson, Georgia. Thomson is near Fort Gordon and Augusta, where the Masters Golf Tournament is played annually. Thomson is approximately one hour and forty minutes from our home in Winder. That means Greg will have to find a place to live. He can come home on weekends. I would like for you to pray with us that God will provide just the right place for Greg to lay his head each night during the week and relax after a full day of teaching what he loves the most, choral music. In celebration of Greg's birthday, we will motor over to the Mall of Georgia and dine at P.F. Chang's Chinese Restaurant. We love Chinese food, and P.F. Chang's is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the known world. I love their egg drop soup. It has a velvet taste that soothes the taste buds and satisfies the soul. We each will choose a favorite dish and share it with the other two members of our family. Happy birthday to Gregory Holmes Morgan. Dr. Brent Lollis, Senior Pastor A Personal Word from Hugh Morgan, Editor of Hugh's News, on the eve of the Fourth of July 20186/28/2018 I want to thank you for allowing me to come into your home, office, workplace, or wherever you may be on this Fourth of July 2018. It is a great privilege and honor to serve you, our church, the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, and the body of Christ worldwide by publishing the news you may not get elsewhere, as well as inspirational messages, sermons, and devotionals. I am glad to be an American. I thank God that He has allowed me to serve in the Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force. I did not plan it that way, but in the providence of God He directed my life to serve in these three branches of the Armed Forces of the United States. It was an honor and a pleasure to serve 15 years as the director/endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC. I have retired from that position of leadership in the IPHC, and I want to commend to you Retired Army Chaplain (Colonel) Jerry L. Jones, who is my successor. He is doing a terrific job to bring us to the next higher level of excellence. Chaplains Ministries, IPHC is in good hands. I can tell you that we have some of the finest and best chaplains in the military in the Army, Navy (includes Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines), and Air Force. We endorse men and women who have been called by God to serve our men and women in uniform. In addition, they were committed to meeting and fulfilling all the educational and pastoral leadership experience to meet the high standards of the Department of Defense for all military chaplains. They go where the soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and guardsmen are assigned or deployed. Our young men and women who are serving today are away from home and often separated from their families. In the midst of their crises they desperately need spiritual guidance and support from one who can help them find Christ, live for Him and grow in spiritual maturity under adverse circumstances. Our chaplains have opportunity to make a spiritual impact upon the lives of young men and women that will outlast time itself. The mission Scripture God gave me for our IPHC military chaplains is this: You are " . . . following orders, doing what God commanded when He said, 'I've set you up as a light to all nations. You'll proclaim salvation to the four winds and seven seas" (Acts 13:47, The Message, Eugene H. Peterson). On Wednesday, the Fourth of July 2018, will you join me and my family in praying for our military chaplains, their spouses, and families, their ministry to the troops all across this nation and around the world. Let us remember your sons and daughters who are serving in uniform, some even in harm's way. Let us pray for protection, provision, and the providence of God in meeting their every need. In addition, let us pray for America and for God's protection upon all citizens and visitors to our country in light of the perceived threat of violence in several parts of our nation. There are evil men who want to expose Americans to violence that will result in the injury and death to as many people they can harm. They have no respect for God or for people. Let me thank all of you who have taken the time to write, to give by credit cards, or checks in the mail. It was Jesus Who said, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Matthew 7:7, KJV). I am endeavoring to ask according to what Jesus has directed, and I believe that every need will be supplied according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19, KJV). Thank you for your prayerful support of this electronic ministry called Hugh's News. May God richly bless you for your generosity in giving. May God bless the memory of Phillip and Ann who served their generation well.] In regards to Pastor Jeffress and the Freedom Sunday article: Whereas the branch seals and probably other military symbols, etc. cannot/should not be displayed at other than official military functions, I am pretty sure the Pentagon cannot tell a church what to do. If it can, we are in for bad times ahead. And if it is true that one cannot display military seals, symbols, etc., much of America is in bad trouble as it is done routinely at unofficial events routinely across America at parades, memorials, etc. sponsored by non-military institutions. Regulations and policies established by the Pentagon are only that, regulations and policies, and only apply to the military. They are not state, federal, or public law. It appears that ole Mickey got to the military again. I am also wondering how they got that picture with the branch seals in it if the church complied with the Pentagon. Pretty sure if the Pastor could have gotten legal assistance in time, that would have been overturned. Well, these are matters above most paygrades.
