Today, June 29, we, as a family of three, Melvine, Hugh, and Greg, will celebrate Greg's 54th birthday.
Greg's birth was by Cesarean Section at the Evergreen Hospital in Evergreen in Conecuh County, Alabama during my first pastorate. He became the church baby of the Brownville Pentecostal Holiness Church. We had a lot of baby sitters.
Shortly after Greg returned from a mini-vacation to Vancouver, British Columbia in early June of this year, he was notified that he has been hired by the McDuffie County Board of Education and the principal as a Teacher at Thomson-McDuffie Middle School effective for the 2018-2019 school year. He will be teaching choral, keyboard, and general music education in this historic southern city in Thomson, Georgia. Thomson is near Fort Gordon and Augusta, where the Masters Golf Tournament is played annually.
Thomson is approximately one hour and forty minutes from our home in Winder. That means Greg will have to find a place to live. He can come home on weekends. I would like for you to pray with us that God will provide just the right place for Greg to lay his head each night during the week and relax after a full day of teaching what he loves the most, choral music.
In celebration of Greg's birthday, we will motor over to the Mall of Georgia and dine at P.F. Chang's Chinese Restaurant. We love Chinese food, and P.F. Chang's is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the known world. I love their egg drop soup. It has a velvet taste that soothes the taste buds and satisfies the soul. We each will choose a favorite dish and share it with the other two members of our family.
Happy birthday to Gregory Holmes Morgan.
