Today in the year 2018, (can you believe it is 2018?!) I continue to be impressed by my father and his motivation in terms of doing everything his physical and occupational therapists ask him to. On the other hand, I also found out that those in his rehabilitation center who refuse therapy, end up staying there and for them the rehab facility becomes an assisted living residence. How sad. Some of dad’s fellow patients are clearly not motivated.
Since dad is progressing so well, he will be released on Wednesday of next week. Hallelujah! We thought that he would be at The Oaks anywhere from two weeks to 100 days. Needless to say we are thrilled that he is doing so well. Dad will have home health care with the fine medical professionals from St. Mary’s Hospital where dad had his hip replacement surgery.
My dad asked me to write for him while he was on medical leave. I must say that unconsciously I have asked myself, “What is my motivation?” The answer would be that I want to be obedient to my father and I want to convey how dad is doing and give you something interesting to read. In thinking of the broader picture, my motivation includes helping others, winning the lost, and being a faithful Christian.
I pray that we all will be more motivated to serve the Lord whole-heartedly.
God bless you,
Greg
