HOW IMPORTANT ARE YOU?
Far more than you think.
A rooster minus a hen equals no baby chicks.
Kellogg minus a farmer equals no corn flakes.
If the nail factory closes, what good is the hammer factory?
Paderewski's genius wouldn't have amounted to much if the piano tuner hadn't shown up.
A cracker maker will do better if there's a cheese maker.
The most skillful surgeon needs the ambulance driver who delivers the patient.
Just as Rogers needed Hammerstein you need someone and someone needs you.

God loves you. He has charted your life since the moment you began to breathe. He know all about you and wants you to experience an intimate relationship with Him. He wants you to experience the abundant life that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You can invite Jesus into your heart and life this very moment. Whoever calls on the Lord will be saved.  Come to Jesus now. He is ready to receive you into His family. There is still room for you.

AFTER
Words & Music by N.B. Vandall (20th Century)  (c)1932 by Harry D. Clarke
Published in The King's Songs  ed. Percy and Ruth Crawford
Van Kampan Press, 1938

Verse 1:
After the toil and the heat of the day,
After my troubles are past,
After the sorrows are taken away,
I shall see Jesus at last.

Chorus:
He will be waiting for me,
Jesus, so kind and true.
On His beautiful throne
He will welcome me home
After the Day is through.

Verse 2:
After the heartaches and sighing shall cease,
After the cold winter's blast,
After the conflict comes glorious peace:
I shall see Jesus at last.

Verse 3:
After the shadows of evening shall fall,
After my anchor is cast.
After I list to my glorious peace,
I shall see Jesus at last.

The Bible instructs us not to despise the day of small beginnings.

Zechariah 4:10
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
KJV

We serve an awesome God who loves everyone and wants to bless every person on the planet earth. If God takes note of the sparrow, how much more does He care for you and me.

Celebrating this milestone of the incredible 20-year history and service of Hugh's News to the IPHC Ministries and the Body of Christ worldwide is no small thing.

Who would have thought that 20 years ago that Hugh's News would survive?  Hugh Morgan was only 64 years old. He was the Director/Endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC in his first year in that position. He had 13 active duty military chaplains scattered throughout the United States at various military installations as well as overseas.  He saw the need to communicate with them regularly by giving them the news of the IPHC, keep them connected to the church that endorsed them, and remind them they were loved and being prayed for daily.

From 13 subscribers in 1997 to 20 years later with 6,000 readers in more than 22 countries is a modern day miracle. God has blessed the efforts and caused Hugh's News to grow exponentially. Only God could do such a thing. Jesus Christ is the Head of Hugh's News. Hugh Morgan has been called and commissioned to be the editor for such a time as this.

The President's Prayer Group--Dr. Ron White calls for Prayer for Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA

1/30/2017

PictureDr. Ron White, President of Emmanuel College
President Ron White is a man of faith and prayer.

He has been prepared and called by God to be the President of Emmanuel College.

He has wisely chosen to lead Emmanuel College on his knees. The Bible says, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16, NKJV).

Picture Dr. Ron and Carol Robinson White
Let us join with Dr. Ron White in daily prayers for Emmanuel College and for Dr. White and his wife, Carol. It is my belief that God will move heaven and earth, if necessary, to meet the needs of Emmanuel College. I sense in my spirit that Dr. White and Emmanuel College are now on the threshold of a mega miracle of financial blessings. It has been prophesied that we need to make room for a season of plenty. Let us believe and pray that a miracle of plenty will be happen, and very soon.

Below, you will find one of Dr. Ron White's daily prayer grams where He expressed his active faith in God, his gratitude for all those who are responding to give to the college and much more.

You will experience the heart of this servant leader, and I am confident God will speak to you as He is me. Let us all pray and give to Emmanuel College as God provides the resources.

Pray For Me

"And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God's mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike" (Ephesians 6:19, NLT).

Day 30 of 31 days of prayer

Today's meditation:
  • God's plan can be mysterious and counter intuitive at times, but regardless, we should move forward in confident faith in the Lord and his plan.
Pray Today:
  • For for me as president of Emmanuel College to lead with compassion, to have a servant's heart, to have a fierce resolve to defend and advance the mission of the College.
  • For me to know God's heart, to seek and find wisdom, to speak the right words, to take bold action.
  • For me to cast God's vision for the College, to be spiritually enabled, to be full of the Holy Spirit, to be strengthened mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Pray First in every circumstance, challenge, and choice. Always Pray First!

Jonathan Cahn's Last Words to Obama and Charge to Donald Trump

Picture
Jonathan Cahn with a Jewish prayer shawl over his head and shoulders
"We've come from every part of this land to stand before the Almighty, before Whom kings and kingdoms rise and fall, and nations ascend and descend, Who alone remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

"We must pray according to God's Will and Truth. So this message will not be politically correct, but it will be true.

"Three Hundred and Sixty-Seven years ago, the ship called the Arbella journeyed across the Atlantic Ocean to the New World. Aboard that ship was John Winthrop who would pen the founding vision of the civilization that would be called "America."

"If America followed the ways of God, he wrote, then, "The Lord ... will command a blessing upon us in all our ways ... He shall make us a praise and glory ... For we must consider that we shall be as a city upon a hill." America was to be as a city on a hill, to which the eyes of all people would look. Winthrop's vision was based on the nation of Israel.

"In the history of this planet only two civilizations came into existence on the solitary foundation stone of God's calling and purposes. The first was Israel. And the second...was America."

As the editor of Hugh's News I would encourage to read the entire speech.

You can read this speech in its entirety by Clicking Here on this hyperlink I have prepared for you.

Jonathan Cahn's speech is timely and speaks to the many issues that our new president Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence will face in their term of office. Our friendship with and support of Israel in these perilous times will be a key factor in the security of our nation and the blessings of Almighty God.

Overheard when some children sang “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing” at a recent Christmas concert.

The line “God and sinners reconciled” was a tricky one for this age group.

One little boy, with a voice that completely drowned out the rest of the choir, happily belted out, “God and sinners dressed in style!”

Bishop Doug Beacham led the way for more than 200 IPHC Marchers in Washington, DC at the March for Life Parade

PictureBeacham, Byrd, Palomo
It was reported to Hugh's News that more than 200 people showed up Friday morning, January 27, for breakfast at Maranatha Fellowship Pentecostal Holiness Church in College Park, MD.  Ben Spearman is the pastor of the church. Bishop Abel Palomo is hte pastor of the Hispanic church  there.

Maranatha Fellowship is located across the highway from the University of Maryland.

Bishop Abel Palomo had the breakfast catered and it was super colossal. Whatever he does, he does it will excellence. He is a people person, and a gifted leader. He is the superintendent of the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

Janice Robinson Russ and her husband Bishop Wesley Russ, former pastor of Maranatha Fellowship and Superintendent of the Mid-Atlantic Conference came for the breakfast. Of course Janice was not able to eat, but she will. Wesley feeds her liquid food prescribed by her doctor. In talking with Wesley on Saturday evening he reported that Janice has not been sick at all since the fourth, and we hope the final infusion she had earlier last week. To God be the glory.

Bishop Doug Beacham and his wife, Susan Reed Beacham, the first lady of the IPHC, paid a pastoral call in the lovely home of Wesley and Janice Russ on Thursday. Doug has not lost his pastor's heart. He truly cares about his flock and that is us.

Following a devotional message by Bishop Doug Beacham these people drove or rode on motorcycles to march in the annual March for Life in Washington, DC.

Here are a number of photos I wanted you, my readers, to see:

Sixteen New Testament Principles for World Evangelization by B.E. Underwood

1/28/2017

What a personal joy and pleasure it is to share with you an e-mail from a young friend I have known for several years.  He is Matt Bennett, Director of People to People for the IPHC. As I have meditated on the word "Room" that God gave me He is showing me to make room for young people, emerging young leaders in my life. The Apostle Paul had Timothy and Titus and other young men in his life to love, respect, encourage and to pray for them.

The following is what Matt Bennett sent me:

I just finished rereading Bishop B.E. Underwood's book Sixteen New Testament Principles for World Evangelization. I first read the book in 1993 while Janese and I were serving at The Centre for International Christian Ministries (CICM) in London, England. It immediately had a profound impact on how I viewed missions. Since that time I've reread it numerous times and each read inspires me to focus on the simple truths of the New Testament that quickly "turned the disciples' world upside down."

Over the next few weeks, I want to share those 16 Principles with you to inspire you to take personal ownership of the Great Commission, to challenge you that our world can be reached, and to get your thoughts how we can implement these 16 Principles in our churches.  I pray that is will be more than a personal exercise but a journey to live a more significant life in God's Kingdom!

Principle One: The motivation for and the perseverance in world evangelization are maintained only by PREVAILING PRAYER.

Bishop Underwood writes, "World evangelization.......was born and maintained in an atmosphere of prevailing prayer. Nothing is more central in launching the task, but prayer is also essential for its completion. When the church stops praying world evangelization will cease."

Underwood goes on to state, that "Every major world evangelization thrust from Pentecost until now seems to have been triggered by a fresh commitment by Christian believers to a ministry of prayer."

If we believe this to be true, the first priority of igniting a fresh move of God in our personal lives, our churches and the unengaged areas of our world is for us to commit ourselves to PREVAILING PRAYER. So today, let us pray like we have never prayed before! Let us cry out to the heavens that God would visit us, empower us, and embolden us to finish Christ's directive of world evangelization!

SPIRIT DIRECTED
Principle Two: The HOLY SPIRIT is the Director of World Evangelization. He must call, enable, and direct the workers, and he must be in total command of all strategies.

B.E. Underwood states, "Just as Jesus entered both human history and His earthly ministry through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, so the church is to operate from start to finish in the power of the same Holy Spirit."

Throughout the book of Acts, the work of the Holy Spirit is powerfully portrayed as the one who baptizes, empowers, guides, confirms, directs miraculously, corrects, and administers the church. "Without the Holy Spirit and His ministry the work of world of evangelization is doomed to fail. He is the director of world missions. He is the superintendent of world evangelization, and unless he is recognized, as such, the job will never be finished."

While strategies and programs are good and often times necessary, they cannot become a substitute for being sensitive to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We must once again become a church empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit to overcome the challenges of reaching our communities so blinded by the philosophies of this age, and to break ground in the unengaged areas of our world oftentimes hostile to the gospel message.

So today, let us cry out to God that we may once again be sensitized anew to the dynamic ministry of the Holy Spirit! May we be filled with His power, embolden to be His witnesses, guided in our daily activities, and empowered to stretch out His hand to do signs and wonders.

Today, let us submit to the Holy Spirit's  authority to direct His church in world evangelization.

[Editor's comment: Let us join Matt Bennett in reading again the timeless truths that Bishop B. E. Underwood discovered as he studied Holy Scriptures. I had the privilege of knowing B. E. Underwood, serving on the World Missions Board with him, having him and Queen Esther in our home and in our churches for Missionary Conventions. When he came to Tarkenton for a convention, I took him and some of our missionaries who wanted to see Georgia play Duke at Sanford Stadium in Athens. I got tickets and B. E. told me that it was the very first collegiate football game he had ever seen in person except on television. He was a dynamic leader, a great preacher, a gifted writer and a friend. He is responsible for me purchasing my first laptop computer. I stand to attention to honor Bishop B. E. Underwood.]

Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod's clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen." When this dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying (Acts 12:11-12, NIV).

Day 28 of 31 days of prayer

Today's one-sentence meditation:
  • When people pray, if evil is present evil is thwarted, if angels are needed angels show up, and if rescue is necessary rescue happens.
Pray Today:
  • For the thousands of youth gathered in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at Accelerant which is happening now and finishes on Sunday, for many to receive Christ, for many to be inspired and encouraged to live for Christ, for many to commit to serve the Lord.
  • For our admissions team to be super successful in connecting with these youth, for them to guide them and advise them, for them to say the right words, not just about Emmanuel, but about living a life in Christ.
  • For many of these youth from across the IPHC and from other churches to be inspired and called to attend Emmanuel, some next fall, others in the years to come, but coming by the thousands to learn and to live in ways that fulfill their potential and find their destiny in Jesus.
Pray First in every circumstance, challenge, and choice. Always Pray First!

AHH, THE MEDIA AND PRESS--THEIR “HONESTY” REVEALED !!

Subject: Tomorrow's Headline

President Trump invited the Pope for lunch on his yacht. The
Pope accepted and during lunch a puff of wind blew the Pontiff's hat
off, right into the water. It floated off about 50 feet.

The crew and the secret service were scrambling to launch a boat to go
get it, when Trump waved them off, saying "Never mind, boys, I'll get
it."

Then Trump climbed over the side of the yacht, walked on the water to
the hat, picked it up, walked back on the water, climbed onto the
yacht, casually handed the Pope his hat and continued with lunch.

The crew was speechless. The Secret Service team and the Pope's entourage
were all speechless.

No one knew what to say, not even the Pope.

But that afternoon, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN all knew how to cover
the story.

Their banner headlines read:

TRUMP CAN'T SWIM !

Picture The Rev. Dr. Hugh H. Morgan, Editor, Founder, CEO Hugh's News, Inc.

From 13 subscribers in 1997 to 20 years later with 6,000 readers in more than 22 countries is a modern day miracle, God has blessed the efforts and caused Hugh's News to grow exponentially. Only God could do such a thing. Jesus Christ is the Head of Hugh's News. Hugh Morgan has been called and commissioned to be the editor for such a time as this,

Bishop James D. Leggett, President of Holmes Bible College and former General Superintendent of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, sent the following letter to Hugh Morgan in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Hugh's News. Bishop Leggett has granted Hugh permission to quote from his letter to join in the celebration.

"Dear Hugh,

"It was good to see you Melvine, and Greg at Dr. Melton's memorial service.

"Enclosed is a check for $25 to celebrate your 20th year of sharing news of people and places, which keeps us up-to-date on the events of the church and our friends and colleagues.

You did an outstanding job as Director of Chaplains Ministries. I appreciate your love and commitment to the church. Your friendship is a blessing.

Grace and peace

Bishop James D. Leggett
President, Holmes Bible College

[Editor's comment: I am grateful for Bishop James D. Leggett's letter of congratulation on our 20th Anniversary of publishing Hugh's News and Commentary. He is responsible for persuading me to keep publishing Hugh's News way back in 2003, when he unveiled the new church magazine IPHC Experience a twenty-six full color church magazine. That was at the Opera Land Hotel and Resort in Nashville, TN. So, you can attribute to him why I have continued this news service for the last 14 years. I had decided to discontinue publishing Hugh's News in light of such a magnificent church periodical.

I have known James Leggett since he was in high school at Holmes Bible College. He was a serious student and I knew then that he was destined for greatness. We thank God for his leadership in our church and at Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC. He and Faye and his family are a blessing to our church.
