The Bible instructs us not to despise the day of small beginnings.
Zechariah 4:10
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
KJV
We serve an awesome God who loves everyone and wants to bless every person on the planet earth. If God takes note of the sparrow, how much more does He care for you and me.
Celebrating this milestone of the incredible 20-year history and service of Hugh's News to the IPHC Ministries and the Body of Christ worldwide is no small thing.
Who would have thought that 20 years ago that Hugh's News would survive? Hugh Morgan was only 64 years old. He was the Director/Endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC in his first year in that position. He had 13 active duty military chaplains scattered throughout the United States at various military installations as well as overseas. He saw the need to communicate with them regularly by giving them the news of the IPHC, keep them connected to the church that endorsed them, and remind them they were loved and being prayed for daily.
From 13 subscribers in 1997 to 20 years later with 6,000 readers in more than 22 countries is a modern day miracle, God has blessed the efforts and caused Hugh's News to grow exponentially. Only God could do such a thing. Jesus Christ is the Head of Hugh's News. Hugh Morgan has been called and commissioned to be the editor for such a time as this,
Bishop James D. Leggett, President of Holmes Bible College and former General Superintendent of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, sent the following letter to Hugh Morgan in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Hugh's News. Bishop Leggett has granted Hugh permission to quote from his letter to join in the celebration.
"Dear Hugh,
"It was good to see you Melvine, and Greg at Dr. Melton's memorial service.
"Enclosed is a check for $25 to celebrate your 20th year of sharing news of people and places, which keeps us up-to-date on the events of the church and our friends and colleagues.
You did an outstanding job as Director of Chaplains Ministries. I appreciate your love and commitment to the church. Your friendship is a blessing.
Grace and peace

[Editor's comment: I am grateful for Bishop James D. Leggett's letter of congratulation on our 20th Anniversary of publishing Hugh's News and Commentary. He is responsible for persuading me to keep publishing Hugh's News way back in 2003, when he unveiled the new church magazine IPHC Experience a twenty-six full color church magazine. That was at the Opera Land Hotel and Resort in Nashville, TN. So, you can attribute to him why I have continued this news service for the last 14 years. I had decided to discontinue publishing Hugh's News in light of such a magnificent church periodical.
I have known James Leggett since he was in high school at Holmes Bible College. He was a serious student and I knew then that he was destined for greatness. We thank God for his leadership in our church and at Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC. He and Faye and his family are a blessing to our church.
