Dear Friends and Family,
Well, we received disappointing news today from the biopsy. Preliminary tests show the "mass" on the base of my tongue is squamous cell carcinoma. I will meet with the surgeon next week to discuss options.
We know that God has the final word in these matters and we are trusting Him to get us through this. I have enjoyed good health for most of my 80 years and have trusted him for most of these years. I know that God will make a way. He never has failed me yet.
Thank you for you concern and mostly for your prayers. We love and appreciate our wonderful family and friends and ask for your continued interceding for us.

[Editor's Comment: I have known Janice since I was a freshman at Emmanuel College in the early '50s. Of course she was still in high school. She and her family lived in Franklin Springs where her father was the superintendent of Advocate Press. They moved back to Washington, DC, where her father, Robert Robinson, worked for the Federal Printing Office. I attended the National Pentecostal Holiness Church where the Robinsons were active members and leaders in the church. They invited me to their home many times where I ate the wonderful food that Hazel Robinson, the mother of Janice prepared. She was one of the best cooks in the known world.
Janice is one of the finest Christian ladies I have ever met. She is highly intelligent and has used her talents and gifts to bless the churches where her husband, Wesley Russ, has pastored, and then, as the conference superintendent. Janice has served as the book kepper for the Mid-Atlantic Conference for many years, long before Wesley was elected Bishop of the Mid-Atlantic Conference.
Please join us in believing prayer for a miracle of healing for Janice. God specializes in things thought impossible and He can do for Janice what no other power can do.
Many of you would like to write Janice or send her a get well card.
