The Women's Ministries in the LifePoint Ministries (Georgia) Conference was last weekend.
The women from all across our conference converged in Cochran, Georgia, at the Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church where J. Brian Williams is the senior pastor. The report I received was that about 70 ladies were present for one of the finest retreats in our history. Kuhiwa Adams, wife of Reserve Navy Chaplain Adam Erwin, directed the retreat and did a terrific job.

We had five (5) ladies to attend from our church, Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, Georgia. The photo shows four of the ladies who left from the parking lot of our church. Danielle Smith had gone earlier to Empire as Danielle is a member of the board. Her husband, Matt Smith, is the Children's Church pastor and community pastor. He, and their 4-year-old son, Levi, went down early and stayed on special guest quarters on the church grounds.
In the photo below, you can see the front of our church with the steeple. Actually, it is the back of the church where you enter into the church into foyer, vestibule or northex. You will notice the cracks in the pavement of the parking lot. We need to raise money to have it completely removed and repaved. When we do, we need to include funds to build a new handicap ramp with an overhead covering, and parking spaces and pavement on the other side of the church. When I was the pastor, 1986-1995, we raised money to build a handicap ramp. Lee Cape designed and built our current ramp. It is time to replace it. I never knew I would someday need it. Lee did a great job. He does excellent work in whatever he does. I believe in him. My hunch is that we will need $75,000 for the whole project. That is a figure that comes to my mind from my spirit. It could cost more. I really don't know. I do know that Clarke County is tough on their building codes. We will need favor with them. We do not present our pleas before Almighty God because of our righteousness, but because of God's great mercy.
