FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA -- The Emmanuel College women's basketball team defeated Young Harris College, 79-57, on Tuesday night in the Williamson Basketball Arena. This marked the second time this season these two teams have met, with Emmanuel owning the series 2-0.
The Lions took a lead in the first quarter with a strong showing from the bench, including 11 of the 14 points. Sophomore Hanna Grogan was the sole starter to score in the first quarter and would carry the momentum into the second, leading the team with 8 more of her 16 points for the night. The Lions led 34-29 going into halftime.
In the second quarter, the Lions improved their field goal percentage to 50% while putting up 17 more points than their opponent. Sophomore Breanna Locke stood out with 8 points, including 4 from the free throw line. Emmanuel cruised to a 79-57 victory.
The Lions were led by Hanna Grogan with 16 points.
