Romans 1:16-17
16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
KJV
[Editor's Commentary: We are living in a godless society. Christians are often made fun of, ridiculed, and sometimes punished for their faith in the resurrected living Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. No doubt the Christians in Rome were living under adverse circumstances. They must have felt beaten down, discouraged, and defeated. Paul is admonishing them to be strong, stand up, and be counted as a believer and never be ashamed to be counted as one who has believed the Gospel and whose life has been transformed.
No matter what happens in life, we should never be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. It is God's power that has brought us salvation, and a hope that will never fade away.
Are you trusting in Jesus Christ just now for your salvation? You know you can. Call upon Jesus right now. He is ever near, even closer than breathing and nearer than your hands and feet. Trust Him. You are called to live by faith.]
