John 15:16

16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it you.
KJV

[Editor's Comment: This is one of the Scriptures that the Holy Spirit has quicken to my spirit and it is key to my calling as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ to proclaim the Gospel. What's more, it is here that Jesus teaches us about prayer in the Name of Jesus. We endeavor to pray for the Will of God to be done, and I have leaned to pray the Scriptures by giving voice to God's Word. It is my understanding that the word "may" is a polite word to remind us the God is Sovereign and only He has the final Word. That is where trust comes in. We trust God to answer our prayers that are in harmony or alignment with God's Will.
