Today, Sunday, 9/11/16, we will begin reading one chapter in the Gospel of John in each edition of Hugh's News. This fourth Gospel has 21 chapters so for the next 21 days we will be reading together a chapter a day. It is my intent or purpose to get all of my readers of Hugh's News in intentional Bible reading. The Holy Spirit will honor these efforts as He makes clear the meaning of this wonderful Gospel. John lived longer than all of the original 12 apostles and wrote not only the Gospel of John, but 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, and the Book of Revelation.
The purpose of the Gospel of John is recorded in John 20:21. This is our benediction for this historic day when we remember the tragic terrorists attack on our country on September 11, 2001.
John 20:31
"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His Name" (KJV).
John 20:31
"But these are written (recorded) in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of God, and that through believing and cleaving to and trusting and relying upon Him you may have life through (in) His Name" [through Who He is]. [Ps 2:7,12.]. [AMP]
