Amos 8:11
Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord God, when I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but [a famine] for hearing the Words of the Lord.

Amos 8:11-12
11 "Oh yes, Judgment Day is coming!"
These are the Words of my Master GOD.
"I'll send a famine through the whole country.
It won't be food or water that's lacking, but my Word.
12 People will drift from one end of the country to the other,
roam to the north, wander to the east.
They'll go anywhere, listen to anyone,
hoping to hear GOD's Word — but they won't hear it.

[Editor's Comment: Our nation, the United States of America, has drifted far from being a Christian nation. It is my belief that God is attempting to awaken the church from her spiritual apathy and disobedience, and to move the church to repentance and a return to God. It's time to be alert for the signs of the times are everywhere telling us that something is about to happen--the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ for those who are prepared spiritually for His glorious return.
The Apostle Paul wrote these words to youth Titus in the Epistle to Titus 2:11-14:
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 Who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good."
