Here's how I introduce this blessing or benediction to everyone I meet:
May I ask you a question? Have you ever heard of Billy Graham?
To my amazement not everybody answers that question in the affirmative. However, most people know something about this great America evangelist, and the pastor to several American presidents.
Billy Graham lived to be 99 years old. However, if you add the 9 months he was in his mother's womb, and we as Christians believe that life begins at conception, he lived to be 100 years of age. He lived a righteous life. That is noble and noteworthy.
Billy Graham did not trust in his righteous life for his salvation. He knew the Scriptures that says "... all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6, NKJV). His trust was only in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross Who shed His blood for our redemption. The song writer had it right, "What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus."
May I share Billy Graham's blessing with you?
I have memorized it. He had written it some time prior to his long illness and death. Here it is:
"May your troubles be less, your blessings more; and may nothing but joy, peace, and happiness come to your door. Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil: it has no point." (Billy Graham)
Everyone with only one exception has received this amazing blessing with a sense of gratitude.
I have had Arlette Revells who designs many documents to design a ministry card for me to share with those God brings into my life daily. She has printed 2,000 ministries cards for me to give out to those who will receive them. Thus far, I have given out over 600 ministry cards. Her is how it looks thanks to Arlette Revells, Founder and CEO of Great Works, Inc.:
