What God is teaching me through the trial I am experiencing
Author: Hugh H. Morgan
Recently I have been reading the Book of Job again to see what God would speak to me there about the challenge/trial I am going through. Job discovered that God is a just God and a good God. The good news is that Job's testing came to a end. God determines when the trial will come to a conclusion.
Then, I looked at the Book of James and read this in the opening lines of his epistle, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations" (James 1:2, KJV). Temptations, trials, challenges. Whatever they are they are not pleasant.
The Apostle Paul prayed three time for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and it wasn't removed. Instead, God told Paul that "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV).
I have come to the point of asking God what He wants me to learn from what I am experiencing?
The Book of Esther is a most interesting book. There is no mention of God in it, and not a prayer is offered to God. However, it can clearly be seen that God is working behind the scenes to protect and preserve His people. Mordecai, Esther's uncle who had adopted her when her parents died, spoke to her with these words: And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: "Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king's palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:13-14, NKJV). God has a sovereign will and purpose for our lives but we as Christians have a responsibility to obey Him. Through this Scripture I believe God is saying to me, "I have placed you, Hugh, where you are at this time My divine purpose." Therefore, I want to be a good steward of the resources God has given to me to bless others and to fulfill the purpose He has for my life and ministry.
I am learning God is bigger than the trial I am going through. And in the process that God is developing in me a closer relationship with Him. Jesus lives within me. And I want to praise His Holy Name.
