Today, as I was going through the refining fire in my relationship with my darling wife, Melvine Stewart Morgan, I thought of this Scripture over and over again:
Habakkuh 3:17-19
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The LORD God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
KJV
Habakkuh 3:17-19

I can tell you that I did not feel like rejoicing. It is no fun at all when Melvine is so confused, disorientated, and out of it that you want to scream.
We had to get ready to drive to St. Mary's Hospital for an MRI on Melvine's brain. Today, Wednesday, March 27, we had to be at St. Mary's Hospital at 11:30 am. Jeanette Phillips was there with a wheel chair waiting on us when we arrived.
I tried to get Melvine going in the right direction. I wanted her to bathe, and dress so we would not have to rush to get to the hospital. She did everything to eat of precious time and did virtually nothing. She thought her clothes were in Stephanie's room. I could not convince her that they were in her closet near our bathroom. I finally had to go in the closet to get Melvine's pants she needed to wear. I did not check her socks, but should have. I needed to change them and put on new diabetic socks which I purchased for her. I had to dress her and put on her shoes.
We finally got out of the house and into my car. I placed her walker in the back seat of my car, and after I got in the car and fastened Melvine's seat belt as well as my own, we were off to the races. I was running about 10 miles more than the speed limit. Then, I go behind a slow car, making 40 miles an hour. Low and behold, he was headed to St. Mary's or near there and we could not get around him.
I was praising God for favor and success. None of my praising God hurried up the driver. However, we got all green lights and that was something to praise God for. But, I know I am to praise God when nothing good is happening, at least from my viewpoint. Then, I remember that God is sovereign and He made this day. If we were late, they will just have to wait on us . . . we have waited on them many times.
The MRI took far more time than it should. But the time we got home it was 2 p. m. However, I must tell you we did stop by McDonald's to get out lunch and a drink.
When we got home, Melvine wanted to sit in her recliner. I helped her and I moved the chair back with the legs and feet up high. She fell asleep. I had to make a few phone calls to coordinate my pre-op on Thursday with my urologist and with St. Mary's.
I had wanted to get me a new cell phone. I went to Walmart and could not find what was advertised on the Internet. So, I went to Verizon where I have a contract with Melvine's old cell phone. I got a phone and I will tell you about it later.
I was able to get Fran Smith to stay with Melvine. I was gone four hours. I know Fran was not prepared for that. I felt badly that it took so long. I had not planned on that happening.
To make a long story short, I gave Melvine her medications, and took her vital signs. I made her a ham, mayonnaise, lettuce and bread sandwich which I cut in half, and gave her some potato chips. She ate most of the sandwich, and all of the potato chips. She drank about half of a diet Coke.
I supervised her getting ready for bed. She brushed her teeth, etc. I put some lotion with aloe on her legs. I took off her socks and put on a brand new pair of diabetic socks. I helped her put on her night gown, and tucked her in bed.
I really need your prayers as well as Melvine.
I keep looking up and I am trying to keep my eyes on Jesus and not the situation or circumstances. Those things are not to control me. I know my Jesus still heals and I believing God to make Melvine whole. The Lord God is my strength and deliverer. He can do far more than I could ever imagine or dream of. I have seen God do miracles in healing people. I will not give up hope in God to heal Melvine.
Please continue to pray for us.
