Nothing compares to the manifest presence of God when we worship with other Christians. It has been described as the sweet presence of God when no one wants to leave and we linger to enjoy it as long as we desire.
We were thrilled to have Gregory H. Morgan to join us by playing the piano in the absence of Sara Lynn Holbert who was attending a funeral. Greg had played piano for Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church for 3 years. Nurse Nancy Luke, a member of the church came to worship with us because she read about it in Hugh's News to which she subscribes. She was the school nurse at Statham Elementary where our Stephanie taught for 21 years before died of bone cancer.
Greg sang a solo, "People Need the Lord." The resident members love it.
Pastor Wayne Butler sang a solo, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
Wayne is a masterful story teller. His story of the Gospel of the Golf Lesson is a true story that no one will forget as it illustrates the grace of God.
Our attendance was 11. We thank God for each one who came.
Here is the benediction I gave:
Numbers 6:22-27
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put My Name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.
