On Monday, December 21, 2015, I received an email from a faithful and loyal supported of Hugh's News. He is a pastor of one of our IPHC churches in the North Carolina Conference. He is Bobby Williams.
Here is what Bobby wrote:
"Dear Hugh, Please pray for me. A couple of Sunday's ago as I was getting ready to go to church, I was stricken with a significant stroke. The Lord protected me from having major neurological damage. However I have no left peripheral vision and this makes reading and typing almost impossible. I am having severe headaches. Please pray and ask my many friends to join you. Bobby Williams"
Several years ago Bobby's home burned. We told you about it in Hugh's News, and many of you came to the rescue to help Bobby and his wife recover their loss and keep on serving the Lord. Since then, Bobby sends a check monthly to Hugh's News, Inc. to support this ministry. He has never forgotten the help you all gave him in his time of need.
We believe that when Jesus gave the Great Commission He not only commanded His disciples to preach the Gospel, but to heal the sick as well. Now is the time for us to obey that command and see the sick healed. Join mr in praying for Bobby Williams's healing.
Last week I was talking with Jon Potter, pastor of our Pentecostal Holiness Church in Birmingham, by phone, and by the way they are meeting in the church facility that the Lord help me to build with the giving of His people, in Hoover just off the Alford Exit on I-65 South. Jon reminded me of this Scripture:
Romans 15:17-22
17 Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. 18 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done- 19 by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the Gospel of Christ. 20 It has always been my ambition to preach the Gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation. 21 Rather, as it is written:
"Those who were not told about Him will see,
and those who have not heard will understand."
22 This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.
