Dear Hugh,
I would like for the readers of Hugh's News to remember in prayer my first cousin, Zelotes ("Z") Williams. He was working with a program at the Maiden Church one week ago today, laughing and talking with about 200 students that they were helping prepare to go back to school when someone noticed that "Z" was sitting by himself, smiling but saying nothing.
Those at the church immediately got an ambulance and rushed him to the hospital near Hickory, NC. After an MRI from which they found three masses (tumors) in his brain, they transferred him to Winston Salem Baptist Hospital, realizing he needed more special care.
At present they are deciding on the treatment for "Z". Medical science is wonderful but I would ask that your readers please pray to The Great Physician for healing for "Z". He attended Emmanuel and has worked diligently in the Maiden PH Church all of his life. He has a wonderful testimony of how the Lord has delivered him from Lymphoma and near death a few years ago from a heart attack. We covet your prayers to restore this young man to perfect health.
In Christ,
Gay Shepherd
[Editor's Comment: We take every prayer request very seriously believing in God Who can do the impossible. We used to sing a song that had this lyric: "God specializes in things thought impossible and He can do for you what no other power can do."
One of my favorite Scriptures for healing is recorded in Isaiah 57:18-19, "18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. 19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him."
KJV
Twice over God says that He will heal him in two brief sentences. I believe God will tell us that He is healing us as many times as we need to be told. Although once is enough. God always keeps His Word.]
