Dr. Morgan,
My wife's brother David Richardson has been battling esophageal cancer for the last several months. I would appreciate it if you would post the following prayer request for him in your newsletter.
The Rev. Mr. David Richardson, Sr., pastor of Holy Trinity P.H. Church in Andrews, SC, who is in Duke Hospital, Durham, NC, following surgery related to cancer of the esophagus. After successful chemo and radiation treatments earlier this spring, surgery was required to remove the tumor itself. Please pray for God's strength and healing touch for David, as he faces a long recovery process.
Blessings,
Bill Cox
[Editor's Comment: It is by no means a coincidence that the readers of Hugh's News are requesting prayer for the healing of family members. I sense the Holy Spirit is stirring the church to pray for others who need a healing miracle. We are compelled to fall to our knees in humility to make our requests known to God on behalf of others. In this process of corporate prayer of the hundreds of readers of Hugh's News as it spreads to our churches, we are being called to go back to the Book of Acts and see how the apostles and disciples of Jesus healed the sick in the Name of Jesus.
Now is the time for us to take the authority Christ Jesus gave to His disciples and to us who would follow them.
Here is a Scripture that we need to claim for Pastor David Richardson, Sr.:
1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24, “May God Himself, the God Who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One Who called you is completely dependable. If He said it. He will do it! (The Message, Eugene H. Peterson).
Remember that God has the final Word!
Nothing is impossible for God!
“Rise and be healed in the Name of Jesus.”
Special Word for David Richardson:
God’s Word is at work in David Richardson's body,
Driving out all manner of sickness and disease,
And creating in his body a perfect cure,
For the Glory of God,
The good of David,
And for a testimony of God’s compassion, love and mercy, His healing power,
and His Saving grace!
