We recently experienced Hurricane Matthew on the East Coast of the US. Some areas are still reeling from the effects of the storm. Nevertheless, I heard this true story today.
A herpetologist (the branch of zoology dealing with reptiles and amphibians) was concerned about caring for snakes and reptiles during the power outages. He would take some snakes and put them in his car during the day at work. Of course, the snakes would benefit from the sun and the heat inside the car.
The herpetologist was horrified when he found his car missing one afternoon and reported it to the police.
His car was located not quite two blocks away. Evidently the car thief was surprised by the snakes.
