Tim Starr has been named the new Head Coach for the men’s soccer varsity program.

Franklin Springs, GA - Starr joins Emmanuel after serving as Head Coach at NCAA D2 Malone University in Canton County, Ohio. In fact, Coach Starr registered an overall record of 4-7-6 including a GMCA Playoff appearance breaking best Malone's records since 2011. Starr stated how he wants to bring his competitive mentality to make of Emmanuel's soccer team a "family fighting for a common goal inside and outside the field". In addition to this mentality, Starr will focus in building a teamwork philosophy and community awareness "aligned with Emmanuel's ethics and integrity codes in order to promote the campus community". After Coach Starr's meetings through videocall with the team due to the current COVID-19 situation, he shared his excitement about his new players and how he believes to "Emmanuel's soccer team is full of young players with the potential and desire to overcome any adversity we may face this upcoming season." Also, Coach Starr supported to his main goal is to "push the ceiling every day on and off the field, to use the gifts and abilities that God has given us to reach the maximum potential in order to represent him well".
Starr's athletic career started at NC D2 Colorado Christian University where he pursued a bachelor's degree on History with Emphasis in Education and Biblical Studies, and where he was named two times "Impact Player of the Year". After his graduation, Starr continued his athlete career at the Cascade Surge in the USL League 2. After several seasons in USL Leagues he decided to make his own European adventure playing for the SV Hirschstetten in the 4th Austrian League where he led the team as midfielder. After his career as an athlete he started his coaching career with important spots at AC Connecticut, and Sheridan College in Wyoming. During this time Starr finished his master's degree in Recreation and Sport Science with a Concentration in Soccer Coaching from Ohio University.
