David Roberson, from Raleigh, NC and a member of the World Missions Ministries Department Council, sent the following message to me, the editor of Hugh's News, which was sent by Bishop Talmadge Gardner:
Dear WMMD Council Members:
Received a voicemail message from David Parker, that his dear father, Rev. John Parker passed away at 3:00 PM CST this afternoon.
David remarked that his home going was peaceful!
Please remember Mrs. Edna and David and Irvina in particular.
We will forward funeral arrangements onto you as they become available.
We rejoice in the reality that we do not mourn as those with no hope!

It is my understanding from a FaceBook communication on Saturday from Irvina Parker through my son, Greg (I don't participate in FaceBook), that there is a difference in John Parker's breathing today. It is more erratic and he stops breathing and then starts again. We will stay close today. Please pray for God's peace to permeate this room. Thanks to Elvio and June Carter for a very timely visit this morning.
David wants the family and friends to know that we are planning two different services for John when the time comes. The first will be at our church (River of Life) here in Oklahoma City. The second will be at the Culbreth Memorial in Falcon, NC. He will be laid to rest at the cemetery in Falcon per their plans years ago.
