[Editor's Comment: I have been blessed to know George Loar. I have been to the Ukraine and Romania with him. I have been to his church in Lonaconing, MD. He had a great memory, and committed many Scriptures to memory. He meditated on the Word of God, and God used that gift to strengthen his preaching and teaching. He was a soul-winner. Because he was a coal miner, he found the miners in the Ukraine attracted to him.
I liked it because George is a Marine. Here is a Marine who is now in heaven.
It was Wesley Russ through the leadership of the Holy Spirit who recruited George to go to the Ukraine to plant a church. Once he committed to the invitation and call from God, he never turned back. God used George Loar to plant 82 churches. I wonder how many other churches were planted from those 82 churches.
May God bless the memory of this man who gave his life to evangelism, the planting of churches, and pastoring his church.
