
On November 5, 2016, Vice President Of Student Life, Brad Davis and the Board of Regents presented
The Life Time Achievement Award to the Rev. Dr. E. Leroy Baker during the annual Southwestern Singing Reunion.
Both Dr Baker and his wife, Evelyn, were able to attend the Homecoming events at SCU.
Dr Baker was recognized for his outstanding service not only to SCU but also to the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. Residing in Plum Grove, Texas, Dr Baker began his education at Southwestern Christian University and continued his education at USC Santa Barabara and Oral Roberts University.
He has served as President of SCU and helped to turn the university around during some difficult days.
Dr Baker continued in his career as the Director of Stewardship for the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and as the Conference Bishop of Grace Bible Ministries.
Dr Leroy Baker continues to minister as an evangelist and minister of the Gospel throughout the United States.
He is a pillar of the IPHC and a stalwart of SCU.
