The artery catheterization to my heart went well at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens on Wednesday. Dr. Clay Chappell, a cardiologist, did the procedure. It was a piece of cake. And I want to thank you for your prayers for me. Melvine went with me. but she was required to drive me home. We arrived home around six o'clock. I was not allowed to drive, work or put any pressure on my right hand for 24 hours. The doctor went in my right wrist with the catheter. I was awake the whole time, but placed, I was told, in a twilight zone. I know the nurse inserted an oxygen tube in my nose.
A team of professionals prepared me for the procedure and I survived.
Good News: No blockages in my arteries.
Bad News: I will have to have a pace maker inserted to keep my heart beating. From time to time it stops beating for about 3.2 seconds. It is rather slow.
I am home.
The operation for a pace maker will be sometime next week. Dr. Shaw will do the surgery to install or implant the heart pace maker.
Thanks for your prayers.
