President Ron White is a man of faith and prayer.
He has wisely chosen to lead Emmanuel College on his knees.
The Bible says, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16, KJV).
Let us join with Dr. Ron White in daily prayers for Emmanuel College and for Dr. White, who is fully involved in the leadership of the college as our president now in his second year.
Silence the Roar
"For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall, or like the relentless heat of the desert. But you silence the roar of foreign nations. As the shade of a cloud cools relentless heat, so the boastful songs of ruthless people are stilled" (Isaiah 25:4a-5 NLT).

Answered prayers:
Thank God for over 250 alumni and friends who responded to the Phon-A-Thon Participation Challenge. This great response met and exceeded the participation goal of 200 (or more) responses in the month of December.
Thanks to our generous alumni and friends for helping meet this $20,000 Challenge. Their Challenge Responses brought gifts of over $38,000 in addition to the $20,000 Challenge Gift. Collectively the fall Phon-A-Thon raised over $83,000 this fall, breaking all records of recent years.
Thank God for those who participated and made this event such a great success!
Never give up unless its praise we give up to God; never give in except to give in to him.

Today's prayer topics:
- Relentless opposition to God's purpose comes from many directions and creates incessant noise, distracting us, but the Lord silences the roar of the storm, sometimes by removing the storm and at other times by simply letting our voices of praise rise above it.
- Pray we forgive the oppressive acts of the past and present, and set our minds to the work before us, which with God's help makes our future bright.
- Pray for strength and energy for our facilities team who are finishing up many projects before the bulk of our students arrive for Spring Semester.
