The Love Encounter
Author: Ronald Gadberry
The roiling clouds are black, foreboding
No whisper now for loud the thunder rolls
The only light is seen as lightning flashes
And sin, dark sin, is sadly taking toll
Baby’s bodies haunt abortion clinics
Baby’s cries are silenced ‘ere they sound
Baby’s hopes and dreams forever thwarted
And the darkness is a curtain coming down
God, Creator, made them man and woman
Every species on the planet is the same
Even plants have sense enough to have a gender
But the darkness now descending seems a game
Blame is shifted and disguised within the darkness
Closet doors have now been opened wide
And what was once considered base and sinful
Is flaunted to the world and viewed with pride
Deeper, ever deeper grows the darkness
As the lightening flashes and the thunder roars
But, be it known to all that light shines brightest
When shining through the churches open doors
The greatest sin that man has ‘ere committed
And the darkness that is darkest in our night?
When man refuses to believe in Christ as Savior
In effect they shut the door against the light
Fling it wide, just kick the locked door open
Bare your breast and let your heart-light shine again
Condemnation of the sinner has no power
Only love-light frees the sinner from his sin
Darkness can’t resist the love encounter
Though the lighted candle may be thrown aside
For the city on the hilltop can’t be hidden
And the darkness must surrender to Christ’s Bride
