Praying the Lord's Prayer helps us to claim the exceedingly great and precious promises
awaiting us in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
There is great benefit in praying the Lord's Prayer each day. This practice will produce great dividends in your spiritual life. It will enable you to maintain your contact with God, our Source. I like to pray this prayer Jesus taught His disciples to pray out loud so I can hear the words with my ears, and think the thoughts of each phrase. As I do, I meditate on each segment and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to me.
You will find the Lord's prayer recorded or written (not found because the Word of God has never been lost) in Matthew 6:9 and Luke 11:2, In some translations the words for sins are used debts, sins, or trespasses. I was taught to say trespasses and trespass. So, that is what we will use. However, if you had rather use the other two words, that is your choice, and that is good.
Now, let us pray this prayer that Jesus gave to His disciples:
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name,
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
