Franklin Springs, GA – The Lady Lions hoped to get back on a winning streak, after suffering two tough losses in Florida. At 2-2 in the conference, their game against Mount Olive on Saturday was crucial to their standing in Conference Carolinas.
The Trojans took an early lead before a jump shot and three pointer from Mikayla Trombley, as well as two layups from Timia Reynolds tied the score back up in the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Trojans take a 7 point lead before some free throws from Timia Reynolds and Taylor Delasbour were able to tighten the gap at 31-27.
After returning from half time, Emmanuel was able to come back for the lead with a 3 pointer from Mikayla Trombley before the Trojans took it back to end the third quarter 47-45. In the final quarter, the Lady Lions immediately took the lead back with a three pointer from Elise Coberly and were able to maintain the lead for the rest of the game, defeating Mount Olive 66-60.
The Lady Lions were led by Timia Reynolds with 19 points and 7 rebounds. This victory against Mount Olive brought their conference record up to 3-2. Action will continue Friday, January 8th as the ladies travel to North Carolina to take on conference opponent Pfieffer.
