Some 200 people have written to thank Greg for the excellent coverage he gave each day about my progress in Saint Mary's Hospital and the Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Athens near the church (Christian Life Worship Center) where we are members.
He is a gifted young man in many ways. He is an excellent writer, musician (plays piano), sings, a choral directer. a piano and voice teacher.
Greg sang with the Emmanuel College Singers when he was a student of Emmanuel for two years when it was a junior college. Then he transferred to Oral Roberts University where he major in Music Education. He auditioned for the Oral Roberts Concert Choir and sang with them on the Oral Roberts TV Program.
One summer years later he sang in one of the summer traveling singing groups,
Celebrant Singers, out of Visalia, California, the 1991 Poland Team.
He sang with the Celebrant Singers all over the United States (They traveled through 33 states), Poland (they sang in small towns near the Baltic Sea), the former Czechoslovakia (now The Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic) and east Germany. The Berlin Wall had fallen just 2 years prior to our tour. He and his group sang in many small cities in Poland for 3 weeks, then they sang in Prague, Bratislava, and Berlin.
He taught at the Sixth Grade Center, Columbia County Schools, Florida Chorus and general music 1990-1991.
He taught at Athens Christian School 1995-96 in Athens, GA, Grades 4-12 choirs, bands and grade 7 English.
Greg taught at Norton Park Middle School, Cobb County Schools, Georgia 2009-2010 Grades K-5 General music and chorus.
Currently Greg teaches Special Education in Gwinnette County, GA, at Moore Middle School. He is teaching some precious Autistic Children--the most severe groug. It is a tough job.
Greg is praying that he can obtain a Choral Teaching position. That is the love and passion of his life.
When we lived in Birmingham, Alabama during the time I was the pastor of Good Shepherd Pentecostal Holiness Church, Melvine and I enrolled him in the Conservatory of Music at Birmingham Southern College. He learned to play Classical Music and was a student for four years. He excelled in playing piano. Today, he is able to play any music in front of him.
We are blessed to have Greg live at our home and commute to his school to teach each day. He is a big helper to Melvine and me. I don't really know what we would do without him.
I am so very proud of him. When you write nice things about our son, Melvine and I are honored for honoring our only son--Gregory Holmes Morgan.
