Greg was taken to a local hospital here in Winder, GA, on December 20, 2020. I had called 911 because he fell and could not get up. The paramedics came within a few minutes. They picked him up, stabilized him, and evaluated his condition. They felt he should be sent to a local hospital near our home. That was a good decision. The tests revealed that Greg had a Urinary Tract Infection, and a spot on his liver. At 2:15 a.m. on Monday, December 21, the nurse from the hospital called to inform me that they were transporting Greg to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA, about 40 miles from our home.
On Sunday, December 27, 2020, Greg had to have surgery to remove a large ulcer in his stomach. He was losing blood, and having to have transfusions. He has been moved from Surgical Intensive Care to Intermediate Care with a private room. He continues to be on IV antibiotics. He no longer needs oxygen, and is breathing on his own.
I have not talked with a doctor in several days, although I talk with his nurses daily. The doctors have not given me a diagnosis as of yet. I do not know how much longer he will be hospitalized. I am told that he will need to be sent to a Rehab Center for several weeks when he leaves the hospital.
I was able to talk with Greg by phone on Sunday. He misses being at home and is eager to get out of the hospital. He is unable to walk without assistance, and will need to go to rehab. I listen to him and what he wants to tell me. I always have prayer with him, and let him know I love him and that he will get well. I remind him of God's unfailing love for him, and the destiny God has for him. We are trusting God in the midst of it all. God has always been faithful to us and has met our every need. We give Jesus praise and glory for Who He is and what He has done, and will do. Our God is the God Who never quits (John 5:17).
Your prayers are vital to Greg's healing and recovery. I truly believe that your voices have been heard in heaven, and God has responded to reach down and touch Greg. I praise God for the progress Greg has made.
Thank you for your prayers.
If you like to send him a get-well card you may write him at his hospital.
