Melvine got up early on Sunday morning. I wanted to stay in bed a little longer.
Once again, Melvine was confused about the day it is. She thought today was Monday and our cleaning ladies would be here shortly. She thought Greg had gone back to Thomson to teach school. Although Greg had given his mother a large day by day calendar, Melvine inadvertently had torn off the page for Saturday/Sunday, and she was looking at Monday. I am convinced the medication is causing her confusion and lack of orientation with regard to time, date, and events.
However, the pain medication, although a low dosage of it, seems to be taking care of Melvine's pain.
We enjoyed going to church today.
We arrived at church around 10:35 a. m. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and I did not need a coat. I wore a long sleeve shirt. Krissy McKenzie met us at our car. She got Melvine's new Rollator walker with a seat out of the back seat and helped her get out of the car and use the Rollator walker, and before I could get to my trunk, she was lifting up my Rollator walker and had it set up for me to use. What an amazing woman she is. And she is strong physically.
Melvine talked with Krissy about whether or not her youngest son would mind helping her with her new walker.
Melvine would like David to take her walker up near the left side of the front near the altars during worship and bring it back to our pew after church. She responded by letting Melvine know she would ask David and find out. Sure enough, David has agreed and did a good job with taking care of Melvine's walker.
Our pastor was walking down the aisle towards us. He had been recognizing our guests. It is refreshing to have young couples with small children and babies visiting our church. We had a couple from near Charlotte, NC worshiping with us today. The lady is kin to the late Paul Hopkins, one of our former pastors. Martha Coleman Duncan Vaughn, daughter of the late Nerle Coleman visited our church today. We were so glad to see her. She is a wonderful lady and has been an outstanding lay leader in our church in Elberton and in our conference.
It was shortly after our pastor recognized our guests that Melvine gave a wonderful testimony of what God has done in bringing healing to her body. We all rejoice in her victory given to her by Jesus.
The singing today was excellent and meaningful. I felt we truly worshiped and I kept praying for a breakthrough where the Holy Spirit will take over with His control. The selection of songs by our pastor was perfect.
Melvine has gone to bed. I gave her a pain pill and a sleeping pill at her request.
Greg has to report for jury duty around 9 o'clock on Monday. We will have to wait and see how that goes today. We are delighted to have Greg home.
Today, we ate breakfast food at the Waffle House after church. We enjoy dining there from time to time.
Melvine and Greg both went to bed shortly after we got home. Greg needs a lot of sleep. Melvine slept about an hour our so.
I am finishing up Hugh's News for Monday.
I hope you will have a blessed day, and a wonderful week.
Thank you all for praying for us and sending Melvine cards.
