One never knows what a day will bring forth. Melvine woke up later than usual on Sunday morning, November 11, 2018. She had expressed her desire to go to church on Saturday. However, she was perspiring and her hair, head, and pillow were wet. She felt terrible.
I took her vital signs and her heart rate registered 125. Later it came down to 119 beats a minute. It should be between 60 and 70. Melvine insisted that I go on to church even though I would be late. She said she would be alright. When I got to church I was talking with Jeanette Herndon Philips and Claudia Strickland in the lobby. They serve as church greeters, I told them about Melvine. Jeanette offered to drive to our home and stay with Melvine. I felt that was an answer to prayer. I really wanted Melvine to be cared for. I hated not to go to church as our pastor was honoring our military veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of our country. This rapid heart beat is new to us.
When Jeanette took Melvine's vital signs, her heart rate had come down to 98. That is still high. Why these things happen on Sunday morning I am sure is a distraction of Satan.
Greg met me at Outback in Athens for lunch or Sunday dinner. We enjoyed eating together and talking about what God is doing in our lives. We ordered a "to go" take out lunch for Melvine, chicken quesadilla and a house salad with Ranch dressing as well as bread. Greg and I ordered a blooming onion, and could eat only half of it. We brought it home so Jeanette and Melvine could eat the chicken quesadilla, blooming onion and the bread.
Melvine watched some Christian worship services and preachers on Television.
Melvine is in bed. I will join her shortly when I finish Hugh's News.
On Monday, I will be taking Melvine to St. Mary's to have the dressing for the P.A.S.Port removed, cleaned, etc. They will inspect it to make sure it is operating correctly. I hope they will release her after the exam.
I have an appointment with Dr. Victor Crosby, our ophthalmologist, eye doctor. He was a flight surgeon in the Air Force. He has his own airplane and flies it often on cross country trips. He did cataract surgery on Melvine and me and inserted in-ocular lens. I really like him.
