BETHANY, OK – Southwestern Christian University prevailed over Wayland Baptist (Texas) 88-84 in overtime Saturday at Pickens-Springer Gymnasium.
The Eagles had four players reach double figures on the afternoon led by James Still’s 24 points and 19 rebounds. The Eagles finished the game shooting 52 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range.
The win moved SCU to 10-9 overall and 6-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The Eagles finished January with a record of 8-3.
Still added four assists and three blocked shots to his double-double. Gabi Laurent followed with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists
Marvin White also finished with 17 points and four rebounds. Mikel Parish added 14 points, seven assists and three steals.
The Eagles will return to action against John Brown (Ark.) at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Bill George Arena in Siloam Springs, Ark.
