Dear Dr. Hugh Morgan,
It was great to hear from you this morning. Thanks for making sure that I was aware of the hospitalization of Ruthe Brookshire. I went by this afternoon and visited with her family and Pastor Harrison Lampley was there as well. Angela, her daughter asked me to go back and have prayer with her. While she seemed to be sedated and asleep, her daughter felt that she was aware that I was there and prayed for her. I agree.
Her condition is critical and she is in much need of prayer. But we know the power of prayer! Let me know if you hear any more and I will do the same.
Hope you have a great evening.
Blessings,
Tim Lamb

[Editor's Comment: I learned early Tuesday morning that Ruthe Brookshire, widow of the late Navy Chaplain Joseph Brookshire, is critically ill following complications from a recent surgery the first part of September. I tried numerous times to reach her family in the waiting room at the hospital, but each time, I was told that no member of the Brookshire family was present in the waiting room. I have notified Chaplain Jerry L. Jones, Director/Endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC about Ruthe Brookshire. She is a great Christian lady and has volunteered to serve in Africa as a Special Assignment Missionary for the IPHC. She loves Jesus with all her heart.
I, therefore, ask you to join with Melvine and me, our Conference Superintendent, Bishop Tim Lamb, Pastor Lampley, and many others in believing prayer for Ruthe Brookshire. She is a sister to Gailya Williams List, widow of Phillip List, Sr., as well as Joy Williams Swails, wife of Dr. Johnny Swails at ORU, and Silvia Williams Swails, widow of the Rev Mr. John Swails.]
