Presiding Doug Beacham's prayer of consecration and anointing for Dr. Ronald G. White at the inauguration of the 9th President of Emmanuel College will never be forgotten, and certainly it is recorded in the courts of heaven.
Melvine and I were not privileged to be present due to health issues. However, we were blessed to watch it on Live Streaming.
Those who planned and executed every detail for this historic, academic, and most impressive occasion made us aware of the excellence and dignity of the leadership of the faculty, staff, students, board of trustees as well as our elected church officials who participated in the program.
Mrs. Linda Thomas, Chair of the Emmanuel College Board of Trustees, presided over this historic event. She did so with grace, poise, and dignity. Everyone who had a part, including the singers, carried out their assignments with proper planning and precision. Most of all, they spoke, prayed, or sang with a love and a passion for the college, and a deep appreciation for our new president, Dr. Ronald G. White.
I am grateful to the Rev. Dr. John Hedgepeth, senior pastor of Northwood Temple in Fayetteville, NC, for his thoughtfulness and courtesy by sending me a photo of the prayer of consecration and anointing that our Presiding Bishop Doug Beacham prayed for Dr. Ronald G. White.
All former living presidents of Emmanuel College were present with the exception of Dr. C. Y. Melton who was not able to be present. He sent his regrets.
In the photo above are: Bishop Doug Beacham, General Superintendent of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church; Bishop Thomas McGhee is the executive director of Discipleship Ministries, corporate treasurer of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, and the liaison for our church institutions; Dr. David Hopkins; Dr. Michael Stewart; and Mrs. Linda Thomas, Chair of the Emmanuel College Board of Trustees. Dr. Ronald G. White, President of Emmanuel College is kneeling.
