Everette Williams, my brother
Dear Friends,
I have a special prayer request for you tonight. I just received word from my brother Everette. He is in the Catawba Memorial Hospital in Conover, NC, near Maiden.
He has a blood clot in his heart. He was awakened with pain this morning, got up, had visitors, then sat down to eat. Pain got worse so he finally reached his granddaughter who came and carried him to the hospital. The ER doctor has him on eliquis, treating him to dissolve the clot. They have given him lasix to clear some of the fluid around his heart. It helped at first but seems to be coming back. They gave him no instructions like lie still, don't get up etc. The hospital is not a regional hospital and they are not trained in real heart care. He should have gone to Hickory to Frye Regional but at the time had no idea what the problem was.
He has not been well all week and thought it was related to a problem he had earlier back in March. He had two heart attacks last year and has been in the hospital repeatedly for his heart over the last several years.
Please help me reach out to Jesus for his healing. He is the only sibling that I have left. God sees the entire situation and I know he can heal and promises to be with us, to never leave us nor forsake him
Please pray when you get this note and throughout tonight if you happen to be awake at any time. I know he must be frightened. I just spoke with him last evening.
[Editor's pastoral comment: Our hearts go out to Gay Shepherd's only brother, Everette Williams. As I was finishing up Hugh's News for Monday, I received Gay's prayer request. I sensed I not only needed to breathe a pray immediately for Everette for his healing, but felt I needed to include it Monday's edition of Hugh's News.
May God's will be accomplished in his Everette's life, and give Gay peace and comfort.
