Phillip Bowen FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA--Emmanuel College Alumnus Phillip Bowen (’98) will deliver this year’s commencement address
to approximately 150 graduates, their families and friends at EC's graduation 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, in the John W. Swails Center. Graduation can be watched via live streaming or on demand. Click here for details.
Mr. Bowen serves as Chief Executive Officer of In Touch Ministries, the non-profit global outreach organization of Dr. Charles Stanley. In Touch broadcasts in more than 50 languages, reaches more than 115 million homes domestically, and is on more than 2,800 television and radio stations worldwide.
“Were it not for my time at Emmanuel, I would not be who I am nor where I am,” Mr. Bowen says. “Emmanuel College was a crucial turning point in my life.”
During the past eight years of Mr. Bowen’s leadership, In Touch has made unprecedented advances. For example, while In Touch’s primary focus is the distribution of Bible study resources, he recently led partnerships that expanded the ministry’s scope to include a strategic humanitarian component—establishing water filtration systems and food distribution in third-world countries.
“Phillip is a remarkable example of what Emmanuel graduates can achieve,” says Dr. Ron White, President of Emmanuel College. “I am so proud of his accomplishments and the global impact he has through In Touch Ministries."
Mr. Bowen serves on the National Religious Broadcasters Board of Directors, the Board of Governors with the Council for National Policy, and is an active member in the National Association of Broadcasters, American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and Christians United for Israel.
Additionally, Mr. Bowen was invited by the Obama administration to serve as an advisor to the White House Office for Faith-Based Partnerships. He has been featured on Fox News, CNN, and in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dallas Morning News, Christian Post, and others.
Phillip has had the opportunity to travel to and share the Gospel in more than 75 countries, across all seven continents. However, he most enjoys being at home in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife Mary-Ann and their 8-year-old son Parke. Early in his career, he served at Emmanuel College as the Vice President of Development.
