I want to thank all of you who have taken the time to vote for Hugh's News. I have not counted how many people have voted by mail or who have voted by giving via a credit card. I will do that in due time. I do know that hundreds of my readers have not voted. I am sure there are many reasons for that. I know that all of you are very busy people and have many things to do to provide for your family, and to spend time working in your local church and reaching out to those who do not know Jesus. That's great. I applaud you for it.
I went to the mail box on Tuesday and there was not one letter in my mail box. The temptation was to groan, and get discouraged. I can't afford that luxury. I refuse to be downhearted, discouraged, or dismayed. That is not a part of my walk with Jesus and my faith in Him and the Holy Spirit to see me through no matter what. I got saved at six, and now I am 83 years old. Hugh's News is a mission for me--a Divine Call.
A Scripture verse keeps running through my mind as I am composing these words. It is recorded in 2 Corinthians 4:7-11:
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
KJV
Friday is the last day. What do you plan to do? I am speaking about those who have yet voted.
I bless your all in the strong Name of Jesus. It is written of Him in Acts 10:38, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him" (KJV).
In closing let me say:
I thank God for all the wonderful things you have done in the past to support Hugh's News. You have been so gracious and giving. I give thanks for you daily and for all God's blessings He has given me. God is not through with us yet. The opportunities have been unbelievable. And I think of what a bright future we have as we continue to follow and serve Jesus Christ.
