It gives me a great deal of pleasure to introduce you to the piano music of Laban West. I met him and his family when I was president of Southwestern College in 1975. We attended Muse Memorial Church when Bill Anderson was the pastor. Laban was one of several gifted and talented pianists who faithfully ministered to our congregation in music. He had a touch on the piano and a style that was uniquely his own--pleasant, inspiring and uplifting. I have enjoyed hearing him play the piano at River of Life Church, formerly Muse Memorial Church, where Richard Goad is the pastor, whenever I was visiting in Oklahoma City for Chaplains Ministries, IPHC. Laban is excellent with worship teams, and for a season he taught at Southwestern College and directed the Great Life Singers.
Although I have not heard this CD, it is on the way to my home by snail mail. Laban mailed it on Friday, January 15. I hope you will consider purchasing one or more of his CD's--"The Covered Wagon Sessions." I am confident this CD will be a collector's item for years to come.
