This Sunday, January 17th, the IPHC family will join millions in the United States to recognize National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Churches around the nation use this day to celebrate God's gift of life, and to commemorate the many lives lost to abortion.
As a former pastor, I recognize the need to be very sensitive to those that may have made unwise choices in the past that led to abortion. Perhaps someone may possibly be sitting in your congregation this Sunday that made this decision. This is a wonderful time to minister to them in your church services. This could be a time of healing and restoration from past hurt and shame. Also, this is a time that you can promote the value of human life.
"You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!" (Psalm 139:16-18, NLT).
[Editor's Comment: I am grateful to God for Bishop Tim Lamb, Superintendent of LifePoint Ministries (Georgia Conference). This outstanding and compassionate message to all the pastors and credential ministries of our conference was sent out on Friday. I thought it was something you needed to read. So, I called Bishop Tim Lamb to get his permission to publish his message in Hugh's News. He graciously granted me permission. He and his wife, Carissa, are giving to us an exceptional example of genuine Christian leadership. We thank God for their servant leadership.]
