Mrs. Mary Rosemma Butler, 89, formerly of Dewey Rose, passed away in Bishop, Georgia on Sunday, January 31, 2016. A native of Elbert County, she was the daughter of the late, Wright and Mary Estelle ‘Molly’ Butler Moon. She was the widow of Samuel J. Butler and they had been married for 56 years when he passed away in 2003. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Johnny Butler.
Mrs. Butler was a homemaker and member of Stinchcomb United Methodist Church. She loved reading, playing piano, gospel music, visiting the beach, her church and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2nd at 3:00 p. m. in Stinchcomb United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mr. John Sexton and the Rev. Mr. Wayne Butler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mike Moak, Phillip Partain, Travis Moak, Marcus Eason, Tommy Collins and Ray Howell will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the church on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p. m. just prior to the service.
Survivors include son and daughter in law, Wayne and June Butler, of Bishop; granddaughters, Jodi Eason and her husband, Marcus and Crystal Ingle; one great granddaughter and one great grandson; and one sister, Kathleen Partain, of Dewey Rose.
