There was a powerful moment on TNT’s Halftime Report recently when they stopped talking about basketball and showed a clip from the funeral of Ingrid Williams.
Ingrid was the wife of Monty Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder’s assistant basketball coach.
She died in a tragic accident, leaving behind her husband and five children.
Monty Williams shared how hard the situation was for his family, but then strengthened the faith of all in attendance.
Williams said, “God causes all things to work out. You can’t quit. You can’t give in.”
He also said, “Let’s not lose sight of what’s important. God loves us. God is love. My wife is where we all need to be…”

There is more to this story you need to read that I just found out on Saturday. Here it is:
Stephanie Gardner, wife of Bishop Talmadge Gardner, is the principal of Oklahoma Christian School where Coach Monty and Ingrid Williams have their children attending. This story has been published In the Daily Oklahoman as well.
Stephanie wrote in an email response to my communication with her, “I sat in the room one day prior to this incident and was moved to tears as Coach Williams shared his personal testimony. Mrs. Ingrid was such a humble yet unbelievably impactful woman of grace. I then sat in the memorial service and was moved to tears again as Coach Monty Williams encouraged everyone not to lose sight of the fact that God loves us and this will all work out. He is a man of God, she is a woman of God and they are a family of God who lead by example.
“I am the elementary principal at Oklahoma Christian School. www.ocssaints.org. It is a nondenominational school with 52 churches represented on our campus. We have over 1,000 students 450 of them are my elementary students. We were just named a Great Expectations Model School and God has been so good to us. Next year, we will be adding two full day Pre-K classes.
