Saturday, October 27, 2018, was one of the best days Melvine has had in several weeks. Greg was home from Thomson, Georgia, where he teaches music at the Thomson-McDuffie Middle School.
Greg went to McDonald's and purchased Egg McMuffins for our breakfast. We all drank a cup of coffee.
I take Melvine's blood sugar, and blood pressure daily and record it. I give her the medications that are prescribed in a small cup. She can swallow all them at one time. That amazed me. I can take only one at a time, and some are hard for me to swallow. I have a scale to weigh her too. However, I don't always do that. She received more get-well cards in the mail with special notes from the sender which Melvine enjoyed reading.
After watching on television the Saturday morning preview of the Georgia Bulldog National Ranked (7) Football team, we had devotions together. The devotion was entitled "Humility before Honor." The Scripture text is Proverbs 15:32-33. The devotional book we are using is entitled Good Morning, Lord . .. Can We Talk. Charles R. Swindoll is the author. This devotional is a good one for us. We discuss it and have prayer.

The nurse from the home care physical therapy agency called and came in early afternoon to meet Melvine, and go over a lot of things prior to beginning physical therapy. It was an intake interview. She took Melvine's vital signs and went over with her the medications she is taking. We were pleased to learn that this nurse is a believer and knows the Lord. She and her husband both served in the Air Force and she finished her 20 years in the reserve and will have to wait until she is 60 to start receiving retirement pay and other benefits.
We watched Georgia play Florida via television. The annual rivalry game is always played in Jacksonville, Florida. We were glad Georgia won, and have the challenge to win the SEC East Football Championship.
Greg did our grocery shopping today at Wall Mart, as well as purchasing other supplies we needed. I am rapidly learning what Melvine has done all these years. She has run a smooth operation and deserves a lot of love and tender care. I am trying my best to repay her. She is the love of my life. We are trusting God to heal and make her whole.
Melvine gave me the words to the theme song she learned as a teenager. This song is the theme of her life. She sang it for me, and how beautiful it was to hear her sing.
I Know Who Holds the Future
I know Who holds the future
I do not know what lies ahead,
The way I cannot see,
But One stands near to be my guide,
He'll show the way to me.
I know who holds the future
And He'll guide me with His hand
With God things don't just happen,
Everything by Him is planned.
So as I face tomorrow,
With its problems large and small,
I'll trust the God of miracles,
Give to Him my all.
I do not know how many days
Of life are mine to spend,
But One Who knows and cares for me
Will keep me to the end.
I do not know the course ahead,
What joys and griefs are there.
But One stands near Who fully knows,
I'll trust His loving care.
Please keep sending get-well cards to Melvine. They are like a good medicine. They bolster her
spirit and strengthens her faith in God.
