On Friday, Melvine had her morning devotions. As I came in the Florida Room in our modest home in Winder, Georgia, she was singing a song I don't recall her ever singing. She told me it was her theme song since she was a teenager and made a commitment of her life to serve God. I could not get her to sing it again. The essence of the lyrics is that she can trust the God of her tomorrows.
Melvine doesn't know why all of this is happening to her. In her heart she is seeking God for the why of the suffering she is currently experiencing. I know God will give her a Scripture of assurance of His love and care for her.
I took her for chemotherapy on Thursday for her second chemotherapy. Bonnie Bender was there as always to be with us, but Melvine in particular. We met with a PA. Her doctor is concerned about her kidneys. On Monday of next week, she is scheduled to see a kidney specialist.
In the meantime, Melvine had lost 12 pounds in a week. And on Friday, she has lost another 2 pounds. That 14 pounds in a little over a week. We don't know why at this point in time.
Yesterday, Friday, she got a liter of IV fluids. It took 45 minutes before it got started. Not all nurses or techs know how to get blood in Melvine's arm. I am thinking she may need to get a port. The doctor will have to approve that. That is a surgical procedure and has to be performed in the hospital.
From early morning Melvine kept talking about Greg coming home. If she could have change the clocks he would have been home several hours earlier. But that is not reality. Greg did come home, and we both rejoice and praise God for bringing him home safely from his teaching position in Thomson, Georgia. He is an excellent music teacher, conductor of choral groups, ensembles, etc. He teaches keyboard, and general music. Last Sunday, he played for the wedding ceremony of George and Laura Swords Chassevent.
We need your continued prayers for the healing of Melvine. I believe your voices are being heard in heaven for Melvine Morgan's complete and full healing.
Your response in sending Melvine Get-Well Cards has been overwhelming. I am sure there are 100 cards or more that Melvine has placed in a basket to read over and over again. She is deeply touched when a card or cards are received in the mail daily, Monday-Saturday.
