The Morgan's got up early on Sunday morning with the desire and plan to attend Sunday school and church. I took Melvine's vital signs and gave her the medication prescribed by our doctors. In addition, she is taking a capsule for her cough three times as day, as well as Delysm cough syrup. Although Melvine is much better with the cough, it is still hanging on.
Melvine was dressing to go to Sunday school when she told me, "Hugh, I am so dizzy, and I hurt all over. I asked what her pain level was and she said between 7 & 8." I responded by telling her that God does not expect you to go to church when you are so sick. I think it will best for you to stay home. She agreed, and said, "Hugh, you can go on yourself." I told her that I would not leave her home by herself.
Greg plays the piano for Pleasant HiIls Presbyterian church near our home, and he loves to go to Sunday school. He enjoys discussing the lesson with class members. The young pastor of the church teaches the adult class.
Melvine went back to bed and slept until 3:15 p. m. She got up and was very tired. Greg had gone to LongHorn Steak Restaurant in Bethlehem, GA to get our Sunday dinner. He knew what would please Melvine and ordered it accordingly.
I watched some Christian programs, and heard some excellent sermons.
This is a big week for Melvine and me.
Monday morning, I will see my urologist. I had prostate surgery for an enlarged prostate 1 year and 5 months ago, and I am no better. In fact, I would say worse. I hope my doctor can come up with an acceptable and satisfactory solution. I need your prayers. God is my Healer and He uses doctors in the process.
Monday afternoon, Melvine will have a brain scan and chest x-rays at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA. I have asked Bonnie Patch Bender to take Melvine for these procedures.
Jeanette Phillips is coming to stay with Melvine while I am gone to my urologist. Ken Phillips, her husband is coming to do some yard work, like spreading long stem pine straw for mulch, and pulling up a dead Rose of Sharon tree, and replacing it with one I have in another place in our yard. Ken has all kinds of heavy tractor equipment to do the job. They have helped Melvine and me over and over again for some 20 years.
Melvine's cleaning ladies are to come Monday to do deep cleaning.
We need your prayers for us this week. On Friday, Melvine is scheduled to have another round of chemotherapy. She would like to get the day moved to Thursdays so she can recover enough to be able to attend Sunday school and worship on Sundays.
Greg helped me to find the new office for my urologist before he drove back to Grove Town, GA. Greg called and he had just arrived at his apartment at 9 p. m. He saw some deer along the highway. We believe God sent His angels to protect him.
We are blessed. We thank God for our church family, for Ken and Jeanette Herndon Phillips, for Bonnie Patch Bender, for Fran Smith and Eva Elder, Wayne and June Butler, and Jodi Butler Eason, and many others.
We wish you a blessed week with miracles happening in your life.
Your friend in all seasons,
Hugh H. Morgan
