Melvine was scheduled for surgery for 10:30 a. m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Greg drove us to our dermatologist's office and we got there a few minutes early.
Would you believe that there were two Morgan ladies scheduled for the same surgery? One was Gladys Morgan, and of course Melvine Morgan. A nurse called Mrs. Morgan, and both stood. Gladys was selected. But shortly she returned because her appointment was not until 11 a. m. So, Melvine got to go first. That was a sign of God's love and grace.
If you will read my commentary in today's benediction, you can read all about it. So, I will not take the time here to tell it.
For the next four days, Melvine will not be able to bend over. She is not to lift any thing and certainly not do any work. We will have to give her extra love and attention.
I have been instructed how to dress the area behind her right ear where the skin graft was taken. I have it written out, and I believe it I can do. In fact, it is my job as a care giver to do it, and with God's help I can do what is necessary for me to do. I want to do it because I love her dearly.
The bandage on Melvine's nose will be in place for a week. I will take her back next Thursday to have the stitches removed. That hopefully will not take long.
We never know what a day will bring forth. Melvine and I have had a good life and relatively free from sickness and disease. God has been and continues to be good to us. We can say that He has supplied our every need and we have lacked for nothing that was needful.
Neither Melvine nor I know how much longer we will live, but until that times comes we want to love God with all our hearts, souls, and mind. We started out a long time ago to serve Jesus and to preach the Gospel, and we are ready to do whatever God commands us to do.
I know I will be spending more time with Melvine and it may be that I will not able to do a Hugh's News everyday as I have in recent months. My primary focus is Melvine and her needs.
Melvine and I want to thank you for your love for us, for allowing us to come into your home, office, work place, or recreational area. You have honored us now for some 21 years. In January, we will begin out 22nd year of producing Hugh's News. It is a joy and a pleasure to serve you, our denomination, the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and the body of Christ worldwide.
Thank you for all of your prayers for us and especially Melvine. I want thank you as the editor of Hugh's News for your prayers and financial support for this newsletter. Without your financial support we would not be able to continue, but you have always come through.
Thank you.
