It was a good day on Sunday. Melvine got up and I gave her the prescribed medications, took her vital signs, etc. Greg prepared her a cup of coffee and her cereal. No insulin was needed for which I praise God. I have a chart to go by in accordance with the reading of her blood sugar.
I did give her a pain pill. At times, she was somewhat confused. As we were leaving our subdivision, Melvine asked me if we were picking Stephanie up. As she approaches dying and death she is thinking of heaven. However, she thought our Stephanie was alive on earth, although we know she is alive in heaven. I am endeavoring to be gentle and kind with Melvine by giving her statements of reality and love for our children who are in heaven, Christopher Todd, Julia Frances, and Stephanie Morgan.
Chris and Krissy McKenzie met us at our car and helped us with Melvine's transport chair and my rollator walker. What a blessing they are. Their son, David helps park Melvine's transport chair until after worship.
Today was our World Missions Emphasis Day. In fact, it was the day we give our GO Offerings, a day's wage for World Missions and Evangelism. We were blessed to have Jon and Erica Campbell to speak on missions. It is my desire to share with you more about them in Hugh's News at at later date. I am very impressed with these young people who are called to missions. They have been married about 4 years and work at Emmanuel College with students in the dorms. Erica works in the LifePoint Ministries office for our conference.
After church we went out to eat at OutBacks Steak House with the Mckenzies--Chris, Krissy, and their 12-year-old son David. Other members of our church ate there as well including our pastor and his wife, our children's church pastor, his wife, and three-year-old son Levi as well as a new lady to our church.
Melvine has gone to bed, and Greg followed her as he went to his room for the night.
Our cleaning ladies will be coming on Monday morning.
