Although we have a prescription filled at our pharmacy in Winder (Farmers Prescription Shop) called Voltaren gel, it has not done the job we had hoped. In talking with a retired medical person in our church, she told me that this gel can be applied several times during the day. I did not know that. It may be I need to put the gel on her hands more often throughout the day. I desire to get relief for Melvine. I do not want her to suffer pain.
Melvine has told me several times that she plans to have pastor Terry Kesling and the elders to
to pray over her and anoint her with oil in the name of the Lord according to what James wrote in James 5:14-15, NIV, in church today, Sunday, May 19, 2019. We certainly believe in combining prayer and faith in God for our healing with the best use of medications that are available to us. The Apostle Paul told Timothy that he should "Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses" (1 Timothy 5:23, NIV).
Saturdays are always a leisurely day at the Morgan home. Greg enjoys sleeping in. Melvine was up before 7 o'clock. I slept a little longer. Greg slept much longer. When he got up and dressed he drove his car to Dairy Queen to get our biscuits with sausage and egg, and tenderloin dipped with hash browns. Greg fixed our coffee. I make the coffee during the week when he is not home. Melvine loves to drink coffee. Greg has only 4 1/2 days to teach school. He will be coming home and looking for a job near our home.
Melvine enjoys watching the Pioneer Woman in her show on cooking on Saturday mornings. I saw her on Fox & Friends on Thursday or Friday last week. She is gifted in talking and cooking.
On Thursday, my yard man, Charlie Arnold, came in his truck to pick me up to go to Home Depot to select various plants and purchase them for my two above the ground gardens. I left it with Charlie to plan it like he wishes. I think he did a pretty good job. I know we have a dozen tomato plants. I still enjoy having twin gardens that are raised above the ground. It makes harvesting the veggies much easier. Over the years I have selected the soil I want in the gardens God has so graciously given me to tend or get help from others to do the work There is nothing like a vine ripened tomato.
Greg purchased a 10 pound bag of Vidalia onions from a member of the band at his school. It was a fund-raising project. So, I will be giving onions away. We love Vidalia onions because they are sweet and taste so good.
I prepared a grocery list with the help of Melvine and Greg. They kept adding items. Greg went to Ingles to purchase our groceries. He does a great job. He earlier went to our cleaners to get our dry cleaning and laundry shirts. We do business with Elder's Cleaners. The owners are Christians and are good people. We love them.
Greg wants to cook Sunday dinner for us. Melvine says she will help him. I know it is going to be good. He loves pork chops and has a George Foreman Grill. He purchased three Idaho potatoes, and some Handover Italian Beans. I like these wide green beans.
I purchased a Marine flag to connect to the rope under the American flag on a flag pole in our front yard. I will have to get Greg to help me attached the metal clips to hold it. Although I have served in the Marine Corps, the Army and the Air Force, I am partial to the Marines. I guess you can say the Marine Corps is my first love. Marines believe that "once a Marine, always a Marine." That is true in our thinking. I don't have the strength and stamina I had when I was on active duty in the Marine Corps. What an honor it was to serve our country as a Marine.
Yesterday, May 18, 2019 was Armed Forces Day.
As we worship God today in our churches for worship, would you pray with me for our men and women in the Armed Forces of this great nation, as well as our chaplains. The IPHC has some of the very best chaplains in the military serving God and country and pointing these young men and women to Jesus Christ and the cross of Calvary.
I hope you will attend the church of your choice today wherever you live.
Melvine and I plan to attend morning worship at Christian Life Worship Center in Athens. It is located on Kathwood Drive just off US Highway 129. The worship service begins at 11 o'clock. If you do not have a church, we would like for you to be our guest this Lord's Day.
Terry Kesling is our pastor. He and his wife, Pam, are doing a good job in their calling. He is equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. He is getting a lot of people involved in ministry.
Matt Smith is our children's church pastor. He is gifted with telling Bible stories with the use of puppets on strings. We have a large puppet stage. It is first class and Matt Smith is a professional at what he does. The children love it. You can be sure the children at our church are in good hands and are learning about people of the Bible as well as lessons for the daily living of our precious children. It is refreshing to see young couples with little children coming to our church.
Melvine, Greg, and I want to thank you once again for your prayers for us, and the many cards you have sent.
