Friday evening was the beginning of Melvine's come back once again. Greg had come home, and his presence always makes a difference in Melvine's life as well as mine.
Melvine's desire and determination to win the battle with cancer and live comes from a heart that is committed to Jesus Christ. There is no turning back, no giving up, but ever pressing onward and forward in marching to the drumbeat of heaven and the music that is heard there in the presence of God the Father, the saints of the ages, and the angels surrounding the throne of God.
It takes a lot of patience to walk the road we are now traveling. We know that God has promised never to leave us or forsake us. We know we can never be lost to God's Spirit or ever separated from God's love.
Melvine and I want to thank you once again for your love and prayer support during these days, weeks and months of doctors' visits, various tests, visits to the emergency clinic, hospitalization, and rehab, and of course being able to attend worship at our church, Christian Life Worship Center, in Athens. We have come this far by faith and leaning on the promises of God. We confess that God has never failed us.
We are blessed with so many friends in our local church who have helped us or are ready to lend a helping hand. We have lacked for nothing. And we thank God for every subscriber and reader of Hugh's News. Every need God is supplying, and we thank Him for strength He gives us daily and for the bright hope we have for tomorrow.
Here is the Billy Graham blessing that I quote every day to those who will allow me to share it.
